★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Good overallManagement and staff mostly provide good operations and service. A few are excellent like the front desk service.A safe parking lot is expected, but with the four car break-ins on July 4, 2025 this must be addressed from the top with solid, swift procedures, communication and a new surveillance system. Also, repair broken items in days instead of weeks. Keep signs posted that detail things not to do that break the men’s sauna and steam room equipment. Ensure that member conduct (especially middle schoolers) inside the building is above board. The steam room and the Foxtail coffee area are unique and important assets. As a highly recognized community landmark and asset, don’t wait too long like I did to visit the DP Y as it strives to improve.
July 13 · Scott ZieglerThis is a place where the client not only does activities, but develops a relationship with the body and all the skills that this body can be challenged with. What I admire most about the YMCA, besides the fantastic structure, is the inclusion of all ages, which is an innovation.Different age groups have varying fitness levels, needs, and goals. For example, children classes can focus on developing motor skills, coordination, and healthy habits and seniors classes might emphasize balance, flexibility, and strength to maintain independence and prevent falls. Offering a variety of classes ensures that the gym is inclusive, accommodating members of all ages and fitness levels. This inclusivity can attract a broader membership base and foster a diverse community. The rehabilitation center is very crucial for those who are in need of physical therapy. Another factor that I appreciate is the variety of classes in its 4 spaces (a, b, c, d) and other spaces for activities such as football, yoga or squash. In your app you can book the pool for swimming, starting at 5am, which is extremely convenient. Also, the space for weight training and aerobic activities is large and airy (an essential quality in the Florida heat). In addition to all this, the staff is super friendly and competent. Henry is one of them who helps us by speaking in Spanish, English or Portuguese. The space for the kids allows parents to exercise while their children play. And, at the end of your workout you can enjoy a sauna like a spa day! It is a pleasure to have found a place that combines health and well-being.
June 20 · Elen MullerToday was our first day. We joined the Dr. Philips one primarily due to their great childcare hours so that the adults can workout. As we were getting our photos taken for our new membership since we had joined online, I asked if there were any additional forms I needed to sign for the daycare to drop my son off and got a tad embarrassed when the lady at the front desk made it seem like we couldn’t utilize the daycare due to having the base plan. She told us it wasn’t included, (which I was 99% sure it was, hence why we joined in the first place, but of course waited because I don’t work there and it was our first day, so I could definitely be wrong) there was a lot of whispering after that at the front desk and then it held up the line at the front desk even more which made me really want to leave at that point. I eventually just went to the childcare center with my son and asked, which they clarified that it is indeed included, and they were extremely pleasant and my son had a blast there. So we’ll definitely be returning, just not the most welcoming first time experience, but the childcare center and staff really made up for the initial interaction signing into the main facility.
August 16 · AnabellaI’ve been coming to this YMCA for close to four years now. The facilities are decent, especially after the recent equipment upgrades. However, it really astonishes me how consistently hostile and unfriendly a majority of the staff are. I have never before worked out at a gym where I’m so constantly confronted for policy violations that, when I ask for proof of what I’ve done wrong, they are unable to provide. For example, I have repeatedly been accused of breaking equipment that I haven’t even used. They will always back down when I try to escalate to a manager, or when a workout partner has vouched on my behalf, and claim they must’ve mistaken me for someone else. There are a few staff members who are very nice and competent but it feels like the majority hate their jobs and try to intimidate guests into leaving as soon as possible. If it weren’t for the proximity to where I live, making it my most convenient option for a workout, I probably wouldn’t come here and I wouldn’t recommend it.
July 31 · Brian PaulsenI am very pleased with YMCA. l joined recently. Love the gym! It has so many different machines. I like the treadmill best! So many classes offered too. Looking forward to doing yoga and dance classes. I would recommend everyone to join!
