Services Offered
As a specialized **Boxing gym** and **Gym** facility, The Fitness Prescription offers targeted programs built on real-world boxing and athletic principles. Their services include both individual and group-based instruction:
- Boxing Classes: High-energy group classes structured for all levels, focusing on full-body workouts, calorie burning, and confidence building through fundamental techniques. Classes are often branded with names like 'Conditioning' (high-intensity circuit) and 'Technique' (drilling movements).
- Boxing Program: Structured curriculum for both beginners and those with prior experience to learn the technical skills of boxing, including footwork, defense, and bag work, ensuring proper form and maximizing results.
- Boxing Lessons: Dedicated instructional time to break down the complex movements of boxing, allowing members to gain a deeper understanding of the 'sweet science' and perfect their technique.
- Functional Fitness: A constantly varied, high-intensity program built around everyday functional movements. This training enhances the body's natural strength, movement patterns, and athleticism, ensuring boredom is not an option and resulting in fast fat loss and increased muscle tone.
- Strength Training: Focused segments designed to build a strong, functional, and aesthetic physique. This involves classic strength movements combined with functional training principles, guided by coaches to ensure proper form and injury prevention.
- Personal Training: One-on-one sessions with a dedicated coach—sometimes referred to as a "Coach for Life"—who tailors every workout and program to the member's specific goals, whether they involve fitness milestones, boxing technique mastery, or body composition changes. This is typically offered in hybrid membership tiers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Stay away from this gym. Im only giving it 1 star because the class trainers I encountered were nice. But the owner named Guy is dishonest, rude and very unprofessional. I answered an ad that promoted a 21 day transformation for women. Im not going to get into the play by play, but as context I have worked with personal trainers in the past and have even trained at a boxing gym before, so this is not my first rodeo when it comes to training and fitness. I was also a Div1 scholarshipped college athlete, so again, I've worked with some amazing coaches and trainers.Long story short, there is no 21 day transformation for women. Its a con by the owner, Guy, to get more women in so he can sell you on the regular memberships that youre gonna need atleast for 12 months (according to him of course). I ended up still enrolling, against my intuition, but it was only for 4 weeks to evaluate if I wanted to continue. I told him exactly what I was looking for if I enrolled and he assured me I would be working with his best trainer (even though he initially made it seem that he was going to train me as he spent so much time enrolling me). Anyway, the personal training experience was non existent. Not at all what he promised. I asked to downgrade to just the classes plan since that was the only thing I felt was decent and I didn't want to break my momentum, even though the trainer was not working out. His assistant text asked for my feedback, again my trainer had no idea but should've been checking in with me as an accountability buddy like I asked, not some random new person I didn't know. Anyway, I replied to him about my concerns with my training session and lack of direction & asked to speak to Guy about it. Instead of Guy calling me back to check in with me, I received a very defensive text from my Trainer, Sheila. I felt very uncomfortable and felt my trust was betrayed by Guy. It was very unprofessional by both of them. So I messaged on the text again which I thought was guys personal number, but found out later was a group number (he never told me otherwise, and my personal info was shared there), and asked to speak directly with him.He finally called me back a couple of days later when I was supposed to have my next training session w/ Sheila. Despite me feeling very uncomfortable with them now, I was going to just request downgrading to classes only versus wanting a full refund. But I was not prepared for how absolutely rude and insulting he was to me on the phone call. He didn't try to understand my concerns at all or the fact that he did not deliver on his promise and he was completely condescending to me as a woman. His true colors came out. Should've known with a name like "Guy". I said I would pay for the 3 classes I took so far, and even will pay for the one 30 min "personal training" session but wanted a refund on the remaining amount. He would not agree to a refund and said he would give me a voucher in class credits for a few more classes in the next mth but thats it. I told him I wasn't comfortable coming back to the gym after how he spoke to me and the experience ive had so far, and then he abruptly left the call. I sent an email recapping my desire to end the agreement since he was already in breach, and the breakdown of how much was owed back to me after the 3 classes. I asked him to confirm this so we can resolve this amicably. He has not responded in text, email or phone. Im disputing this with my bank now but I want it to be known what a crude charlatan he is and to steer clear of The Boxing Prescription, especially women. There are other MUCH better gyms and fitness programs in LA. He is offensive & unprofessional and these kind of business owners are not welcome in our community.
September 26 · Shay MagroIt's my first week working out at the Fitness Prescription, and I love it. The staff are nice and welcoming, and I couldn't have made a better decision by choosing this place. i truly recommend this gym.
August 15 · hector ambrizI joined the Boxing Prescription at the end of March 2025. I'm a 39 year old woman experiencing 'the change' for the last two years. I've had an on and off athletic lifestyle, putting hustle before health.I found the gym through an Instagram post and followed through. I had a call to set up a one-on-one with the owner, Guy, and upon visiting, he measured BMI and body weight. He asked me about my goals and my preferences and tailored a plan for me in under an hour. I wanted to get my strength back. I'm a professional cook with a bag full of interests and a small spiritual niche YouTuber (Linden In La La Land). I need all the organic tools for physical strength and mental endurance I can get.My experience at the Boxing Prescription since March has been excellent. The instructors are professional and serious about their commitment to the clients' health and well-being! The program I purchased includs 6 months of unlimited classes and open gym sessions where one can work out at their own pace. My Prescription cost $225 monthly until I re-sign and elevate to achieve even more for myself! There have been weeks since joining where I have to prioritize doing absolutely nothing while my body recalibrates. They check on you and follow up with you and there is absolutely 0% pressure. If you have an iron will, they have the irons to keep you on track. Even if it's a slow pace, like mine!Big shout out to Simon! I require a nice mix of work and play to get anything done. You provide that consistently!Since joining and placing myself under strict adherence, my blood pressure is down, my mental clarity is delicious, and my weight (although I've always lost weight and gained weight easily) is down! Yes, I had to sweat and hurt and get stiff and maybe a few random moments of flatulence could have embarrassed me enough to just throw in the towel. It's a good thing bodily noises only make me laugh, not flush with embarrassment. Then again, be prepared to get flushed! I LOVE it!I hope this review helps someone who's always wanted to try boxing. It's worth the personal investment and it'll bring a whole different side of your psyche out!
May 12 · Lindsay VanceI'm usually not the type to write any review whether it's positive or negative but this one is long overdue. From Guy ( the owner) to the staff I'm 100 percent happy with how they approach things, it speaks volumes about Guy. Good 👍 job guys! I would like to thank Jee Kim in particular. Jee pushes you and challenges you to your max! Always takes his time to teach you the proper fundamentals of boxing, while understanding where you are physically. I appreciate what he does, he pays attention to detail. Needless to say, all of the coaches here have their unique way of teaching.
March 21 · Mauricio MedinaI love the community at this gym. Sheila and her kickboxing classes always make me feel powerful and is the best full body work out ever time. Dmytro’s strength classes are incredible and he is the best vibes. Julia’s strength classes are also an amazing workout and she plays great music. Gregg’s boxing classes are elite if you want to learn from a pro. Only issue is if you want to have a friend join the owner will blows up their phones about paying thousands of dollars for a year membership, which turns them off from joining. Maybe chill out on forcing full memberships.
