Services Offered
Yoga Therapy: At its core, Present Moment offers professional yoga therapy. This service goes far beyond a typical group yoga class, using assisted postures, breath awareness, and dialogue to help clients address specific physical and emotional challenges. It’s a client-centered, one-on-one experience that helps individuals gain insight into their body's holding patterns, as highlighted by a client who used it to address a hip/glute strain and knee arthritis. The focus is on providing a therapeutic and healing experience rather than just a workout.
Somatic Movement: A key component of the therapeutic approach is the use of somatic movements. These are gentle, mindful movements that help individuals become more aware of their body's internal sensations. As one reviewer noted, this helped them to "pinpoint and release tight muscles" and avoid developing long-term compensation patterns after an injury. This service is particularly valuable for those dealing with chronic pain or physical discomfort.
Thai Yoga Bodywork: This is a unique and highly beneficial service offered at the studio. As a client described, it’s a form of bodywork that is both relaxing and healing, and a "wonderful investment in self-care." Thai Yoga Bodywork typically involves a series of assisted stretches and movements, often performed on a mat, which can improve flexibility and relieve muscular tension.
Healing Arts: The business's full name, Present Moment Yoga Therapy and Healing Arts, suggests a broader scope of services beyond just movement. The practitioner's background as a Reiki Master and Somatic Educator indicates a holistic approach to healing that may incorporate other modalities to support the client's well-being.
Features / Highlights
Women-Owned Business: Present Moment Yoga Therapy identifies as a women-owned business. This can be a key factor for clients who prefer to support female entrepreneurs and businesses that may have a different, more nurturing approach to wellness.
Inclusive and Safe Space: The studio is openly LGBTQ+ friendly and identifies as a transgender safespace. This is a crucial feature that ensures all clients feel welcome, respected, and safe to be themselves during their healing journey. This commitment to inclusivity is a testament to the business's compassionate and supportive philosophy.
Holistic and Personalized Approach: Unlike many large-scale fitness centers, Present Moment offers a highly personalized experience. The sessions are one-on-one, allowing for a deep, therapeutic connection between the practitioner and the client. The use of modalities like somatic movement and Thai Yoga Bodywork addresses the root cause of issues, rather than just the symptoms, providing long-lasting relief and self-awareness.
Practical Take-Home Guidance: One of the most unique highlights is the practical, lasting value clients receive. A reviewer mentioned receiving "handouts detailing the somatic movement assignments," which they can "continue to do over time as needed." This empowers clients to take an active role in their own healing process and continue their self-care journey beyond the studio.
Convenient Amenities: The studio provides a gender-neutral restroom, which further reinforces its commitment to being an inclusive and comfortable space for all. Combined with the free parking lot, these amenities contribute to a seamless and stress-free client experience.

Present Moment Yoga Therapy and Healing Arts Reviews
I experienced a hip/glute strain followed by an awkward fall which was made worse given that I have significant knee arthritis in that same leg. Yikes! As a result, I was out of alignment (an understatement) and in significant pain. Along with PT, I searched for local support and found Melanie Noel at Present Moment Yoga Therapy and Healing Arts. She prescribed a number of somatic movements that helped me pinpoint and release tight muscles and avoid long term compensation patterns. We added Thai Yoga Bodywork to support healing (I loved it and plan to add this type of body work to my future massage therapy schedule).Melanie is so skilled and insightful. She's a wonderful guide and teacher. Not to mention that I have handouts detailing the somatic movement assignments which I can continue to do over time as needed.I highly recommend Melanie's services. Wonderful investment in self-care!

August 25 · Susan PoslusznyI can say that I’ve never been more comfortable in a class then with Present Moment Yoga! Our instructor was very understanding if we had a bad knee or bad hip that day, she offered another way we could apply yoga exercises with out further injury! Our grounding exercises continue to work everyday if needed when you just need to remind yourself to breathe! Present Moment Yoga did that for me an helped my body gain mobility back, I wouldn’t change the instructor an I look forward to more classes!
