NPA West Introduce
Introduction / Overview
NPA West, often affectionately referred to by local athletes as 'The RAC,' stands as a premier specialized gym in the heart of El Segundo, California. Unlike a general-purpose fitness center, NPA West is the dedicated West Coast facility for the renowned National Pitching Association (NPA). This center is not merely a gym with weights; it is a high-level training facility that applies the scientifically-validated methodology developed by pitching guru Dr. Tom House. The primary focus is on the rotational athlete, a category that extends far beyond baseball pitchers to include athletes in sports like golf, tennis, softball, and volleyball—any sport requiring explosive, rotational power.
The core mission of NPA West is to help athletes of all levels—from youth and high school players aiming for collegiate success, to college and professional athletes seeking an edge—maximize their performance while prioritizing arm health and injury prevention. This is achieved through a comprehensive training platform that integrates four critical components: biomechanical efficiency, functional strength, nutrition, and mental/emotional management. Testimonials from real customers consistently highlight the profound impact the coaching staff, particularly Randy and Charlie, have on developing athletes, noting significant improvements in size, speed, strength, and overall playing ability over several years.
California, known for its intense youth and professional sports culture, demands specialized training, and NPA West meets this need by providing detailed, science-backed instruction that goes well beyond conventional training wisdom. It is a destination for serious athletes in the Los Angeles area looking for a proven system to take their game to the next level.

June 28 · Ryan HeinleBoth of our sons have been seeing Randy for about 3 years from high school to college. This facility has everything my boys need to succeed. Great equipment and top of the line coaching. Randy along with the RAC facility has everything young athletes need, experience, patience and knowledge that is very extensive . We have seen both our boys develope and grow as pitchers. Can't thank them enough..
July 12 · Patti AlcornIt’s amazing that we have this facility here in OC. Alex (16 years old), has attended two pitching boot camps here this summer (June and July) and was pushed to the limit with strength and conditioning. We have met both high school and college pitchers from all over the country and these kids are all like minded athletes, they are committed and trying their very best to get better. The knowledge that was shared from proper pitching mechanics to nutrition to proper and improper weights etc. was amazing. I am very confident in Charlie’s ability to develop arm strength and prevent injuries. In addition, the daily workouts every weekday at 4:00 pm are grueling but satisfying. Our entire summer is revolving around these workouts because Alex loves them and is in the best shape of his life in one month! Charlie is extremely knowledgeable and this is where we will be throughout high school and beyond and see where it takes Alex. This is the very best!
July 23 · A RauberMy first time walking into the RAC performance I was struggling to make my high school varsity volleyball team. After some time and a lot of hard work I was able to make the starting line up and receive first team all American for my team. Today I know compete on the AVP your as the youngest defender. I would not be able to achieve the success I've had without this program and team. I recommend it to anyone that is looking to improve their sport And take the next step.
