LA Fitness Introduce
In the expansive and fast-paced city of Los Angeles, California, having a reliable and convenient gym is essential for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. Among the numerous fitness centers that dot the urban landscape, LA Fitness is a well-known name that caters to a wide variety of fitness enthusiasts. The location on S La Cienega Blvd offers a comprehensive range of equipment and amenities designed to meet the diverse needs of its members. This article delves into the specific offerings of this LA Fitness location, providing a balanced and factual overview to help locals decide if it's the right fit for their fitness journey.
LA Fitness presents itself as a one-stop-shop for fitness, aiming to provide a broad selection of workout options under one roof. The gym's model is built on accessibility and variety, making it a popular choice for people with different fitness goals. For many members, the gym's appeal lies in its availability and the sheer quantity of equipment, which allows for a less crowded workout experience compared to smaller, boutique gyms. As one reviewer noted, this location is "not too full on any given time of day," a major benefit for those who prefer to have their choice of machines without a long wait. This contrasts sharply with the experience at other gyms, which can be "packed like a zoo," making it difficult to get a workout in. The abundance of equipment means that members can consistently follow their routines, which is a key factor in achieving long-term fitness success.
However, it is worth acknowledging that, like any large-scale business, individual experiences may vary. Customer feedback provides valuable insights into the day-to-day reality of the gym. While some members appreciate the ample space and variety, others have pointed out areas for improvement, particularly regarding the maintenance of certain facilities. For instance, some reviews highlight that certain equipment, such as the elliptical machines, may be "outdated" or in need of repair. A recurring theme in feedback also touches on the cleanliness of the pool and changing rooms, with some members expressing concern over hygiene. These honest accounts provide a realistic picture and should be considered by anyone looking to join. The diverse feedback underscores that the gym's experience can depend heavily on the specific amenities a member uses and their personal expectations for a large fitness facility.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I mostly use the gym for its pool, sauna, and elliptical machines. Two years ago, I came to this location hoping to try out the pool. But guess what? I got hit by a strong chlorine smell coming from the pool level while I was on an elliptical glider. I couldn’t stand the chlorine smell, and it made my throat feel irritated. I started coughing, and I knew for sure that people had been urinating in the pool.Elliptical gliders are so outdated! I usually go to LA Fitness in the Tustin / Irvine area, and their machines are so much better. And most of them are in good condition, unlike these ones here. They’re broken all over the place.Fast forward to June 2025, and I decided to give the pool and elliptical another try. I wanted to see if there had been any improvements. Here are some of my experiences:-3 stars is for the dirty pool, changing rooms, and old elliptical machines they have here.I called in advance and asked about their pool cleaning schedule. Turns out, they only clean once a week, and it’s on Saturday. So I went at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The pool water wasn’t as clear as it should have been, and it was really warm. It’s not great to swim in warm water, especially when you’re worried about having a heat stroke. The water was also super salty, and there was barely any chlorine smell. The walls of the pool were green, and some corners had black mold. I saw the mold right away and quickly got out of the water. I didn’t even want to try out the whirlpool…I just don’t want to take any chances.Changing rooms: I saw a big, detailed butt print on the bench in the women’s changing room. I didn’t see any signs of reminders about proper hygiene etiquette from LA Fitness. The butt print was there before I entered the pool and still there after I finished my shower. There was also hair everywhere, hairs that are not just from the head …Overall, I had a really disappointing experience at this gym. I’m not sure if I’ll be going back anytime soon. The shower area was decent. I won’t complain too much about a free shower or taking a star off for the shower heads or anything… but there were a lot of hair near the drains and corners of the shower. The elliptical machines were still outdated. Most of them still work, but I guess they won’t get replaced unless they’re completely broken. The user experience isn’t as pleasant for the unlucky people who get on one that’s in poor condition. If you can stand the rattle noise and the clink of the joints, then it’s all fine.Again, this review is mainly about my personal experiences. I don’t do weight lifts at the gym, and I rarely come here for their class or use other rooms for sports, etc. I might update the review if I ever use more of their equipment.
June 27 · Serenity JiangI love how this gym is not too full on any given time of day. Great place to workout with lots of equipment.I tried out Gold's Gym for a free week trial and it was packed like a zoo every day. I could barely get my workout in there because the machines were all taken up. That's why I'm sticking to LA Fitness.PLEASE open earlier on weekends. 8am is a bit late in the day. 7am would be great! 💪
August 09 · Andrew KDidn’t let us in, however i got universal membership purchased in Mount Prospect Illinois, i was getting to all LA fitnesses across the state since i am truck driver, however this exact location didn’t contribute either try to resolve the issue as they should, and me and my co driver just leaving1) First of all, the guys on the desk told is to talk to the sales person then for some reason he didn’t like us or whatever he say they are not available and we will have to come the another day, but i would be ready to resolve the issue and just get in
September 09 · Nurdolot NurdolotovichLike this gym clean and spacious. The staff in kids club was nice. I love coming to the body works and abs class with Manuela. Her class is full with over flow outside. I think it has to do with how she motivates you and not only that she has a lot of energy she brings to the class. Overall good gym. Customer service can be a tad bit better at the front desk but other than that they do a good job.
May 06 · Brittney HortonThis LA Fitness is a great spot with many exercise machines available, two basketball courts, personal training area, large wood floor yoga room with mirrors, bike machine room, a hot tub, sauna, and pool. I wouldn’t use the hot tub in the evening, but would use it in the morning for cleanliness. The basketball often has pickup games in the evenings around 7 or 8. The gym can be crowded, but other times it’s very open.
