HPY Philly - Hot Power Yoga & Pilates Introduce
For fitness enthusiasts in Philadelphia, finding a studio that offers more than just a workout is key. We are looking for a space that challenges us, supports us, and fits into our busy lives. HPY Philly, which stands for Hot Power Yoga & Pilates, is a studio that has become a beloved part of the city's wellness scene. It’s a veteran-owned and women-owned business that has created a dynamic and welcoming environment for everyone, from seasoned practitioners to those new to hot fitness. The studio’s signature classes combine the strength and flexibility of yoga with the high-energy, low-impact movements of Pilates, all in an infrared-heated space designed to help you detoxify, build strength, and increase your cardiovascular endurance.
HPY Philly’s core philosophy is built on creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. The studio identifies as LGBTQ+ friendly and a Transgender safe space, which is a significant factor for many in our community seeking a place where they feel completely comfortable and accepted. This commitment to inclusivity is reflected in their offerings, including kids' yoga classes, making it a great option for families. As one reviewer noted, this is a place where you'll find a great atmosphere and instructors who encourage you to work out to your best ability, providing modifications for different skill levels. This blend of challenging workouts and a supportive community is what makes HPY Philly a truly unique and valuable destination for wellness in Pennsylvania.
HPY Philly is located at 1155 S 20th St, Philadelphia, PA 19146, USA. For those driving to the studio, there is the convenience of free street parking, which is a major benefit in a densely populated urban area like Philadelphia.
While specific accessibility information is limited, the studio's commitment to inclusivity is evident in its amenities. They offer a gender-neutral restroom in addition to a standard restroom, providing a comfortable and respectful environment for all clients. The studio also provides Wi-Fi, allowing members to stay connected if needed. Given that it is a smaller, local studio, the atmosphere is generally more intimate and focused, which can be a relief for those who find large gyms intimidating.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve never been a fan of the large classes at the gym, nor gyms in general. If you are anything like me then you’ll love HPY. The setting, atmosphere, and instructors are all great. My favorite class is at 7:10am with Amy. She keeps a great pace, speaks clearly, and I love that she encourages everyone to work out to their best ability and skill offering variations of the exercises. I think their pricing is fair, schedule gives everyone a chance to find what works best for them, and most of all it is absolutely worth every minute of your time.
March 04 · Dominika ChI had an extremely disappointing experience at HPY Pilates in Philadelphia. I was visiting from out of town and went out of my way to attend a class. Unfortunately, due to bad weather and multiple Uber cancellations, I arrived just 2 minutes late. When I got there, the doors were locked, and there was no one at the front desk. Nowhere on the MindBody app was there any mention of a policy about being locked out for being slightly late. Not only was I charged for the class I couldn’t attend, but they also added an additional no-show fee — all while I had already spent over $40 on Ubers going back and forth from my hotel, waiting in the pouring rain.I reached out to explain the situation and urged them to at least update their policy on the MindBody app to prevent this from happening to others. Not only did they fail to respond, but they also blocked me from booking future classes, so I have no way of even checking if they addressed the issue.I have never experienced such poor customer service and lack of professionalism. This whole situation was beyond frustrating and disappointing. I would strongly caution others before booking here.——Update: just saw the response back and it shows they clearly didn’t bother to thoroughly read the review. I am writing my response here as I can’t respond to a response from the owner. A few things:1- I was 2 min late so I COULDNT make or attend the class BECAUSE I WAS LOCKED OUT. I tried calling multiple times but no one answered the phone.2- I stated in my review that I had booked on Mindbody so it makes sense that I am not in the HPY system. You said please text or email -both of which I did initially. I had reached out for assistance right after the debacle (March 3) and followed up a couple days later (March 7) I haven’t even heard back from before so I’m less inclined to email again….it is also very sad that it takes a public negative review to finally hear back. I literally never leave negative reviews. Email me back and I am happy to revise my review.3- this brings me back to one of the main reasons I felt “compelled” to write a review- it has been impossible getting a hold of them whether it’s to prevent a class from being missed or to resolve an issue. How is anyone supposed to be “accountable” (as the response states is something they’re committed to) when one party is neither reachable nor reciprocates suggestions??4- I am no longer blocked from HPY although after being treated from the owners in such a distasteful way I will not be back.
April 19 · Jessie LiI've tried a few studios around Philly, and this one is definitely my favorite. The teachers are fantastic, the space is gorgeous, and the classes are offered at really convenient times. It's great, and I'd highly recommend going if you haven't already!
February 10 · Alyson AmritaWelcoming, peaceful, and clean sanctuary. The exact calming vibe and wonderful practice I was looking for. Experienced a wonderfully hot signature class with Kara :) The cold lavender towel at the end was perfecto!
November 11 · Sandra WasserbachI took my first ever hot yoga class at HPY recently and absolutely loved it. Danielle was a great instructor - she led the class in a way that beginners like me could get the hang of it and more advanced people could do more challenging modifications. Plus I loved the cold towel at the end!
