★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We joined primarily for the outdoor pool for summer with the expectation we'd be able to use it from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. While it's technically open that long, the last 2 weeks of summer have hours cut out of the day for swim lessons. Unfortunately those hours are the ones between school/work and dinner which is the only time we can come. This wasn't communicated ahead of time and on top of it, the online schedule wasn't updated to say the outdoor pool wasn't available. This wasn't the first time the online schedule was inaccurate for us and at this point I don't feel like I can trust what it says. The pool was nice, but with options that can last longer for us and with better hours, it just doesn't seem worth it to return to the y for just the summer. The hours for the outdoor pool once the swim lessons took over just weren't accommodating for families with 2 working parents.
August 21 · Dana PayonkMy favorite YMCA of the five that I utilize. Has all of the machines I would ever need or want. The FreeMotion machines here aren't at the Y's at Ft Ben, Jordan, Ransburg or Irsay. When I'm feeling motivated for a "full" workout with lots of accessory work, this is the one I go to. Multiple options for leg press, leg curl, lat pulldown, seated/assisted dips, even calves. They even have a tibialis machine! This is also the top pick for my kids when it comes to the Play & Learn area. They have the most space and variety of activities here, and the staff has been great with them. There's a Subway in this Y. That's pretty sweet. The Nickel Plate Trail is a stone's throw away from the parking lot.I'd give a 4.8 if I could, because there's no sauna here. Please, PLEASE, if you can find a way to renovate and build one, do it.
March 27 · M.S.H.I am torn about giving this rating. First, when I get a survey, I wish it had something other then how likely are you to recommend the Y to friends. There ought to be free input about any concerns or kudos.Secondly, I am only giving this rating because of the pool. There are so many other things that are good ,including many good people. I believe in offering grace as well but swimmers are consistly disregarded, especially in the summer. For many of us, this is our only exercise for good reason and 2 lanes in the summer in a sweat filled , hotter pool is not good. Good luck getting a lane too and they are shorter as well. The schedule on line is not accurate. When I just now called the Ft. BEN Y to consider an alternative, they said for now the indoor pool is open 5:15 to 1 pm but that could change daily. When I asked for those of us that might drive 30 minutes the best way to know if their indoor pool was open, sge said to call. What are the chances of reaching someone at 5:15?Lessons, classes, camp, and swim team seam to have precedent over us long term members who legitimately just want to swim.
May 27 · M YI must say, it was an incredible experience! The coaches were not only knowledgeable but also extremely supportive, making sure every player felt included and motivated. The facilities were top-notch, providing a safe and clean environment for all the activities. The program was well-structured, with a perfect balance of skill development, teamwork, and fun. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on sportsmanship and personal growth, which made the experience enriching beyond just the physical aspect of the game. The drills and exercises were engaging and tailored to different skill levels, ensuring that everyone could improve at their own pace.Overall, the YMCA basketball program exceeded my expectations. It was a fantastic way to stay active, learn new skills, and make new friends. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy basketball in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Keep up the great work, YMCA team!
December 18 · Pankaj SharmaTheir sports program has been amazing. The coaches are super encouraging and helpful. My girls started brand new and it’s their favorite sport now. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants their kids to learn a sport in a fun healthy way.
