★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1LASER TAG BIRTHDAY PARTY. We just had my son's 9th birthday here. Overall, it was a great party, and the kids had a blast. The lady I spoke with on the phone to set up the party was very nice and easy going. All the staff there were very nice (front desk, host that brought us to the room, and the girls that ran the laser tag games) The 3 ladies that ran the games were great with the kids! They did let me know on the phone ahead of time that there is no A/C down in the gym (where the laser tag games would be played) but they do have fans and that the party room(upstairs) has A/C. When we arrived at the party room it was very hot as well. We asked the staff twice to turn the A/C down to make it cooler. They were very nice and did so both times. However, by this point, there was no way that room was going to get any cooler... it stayed around 78.Conclusion, we were HOT but the party went well, and the kids had a great time. Next time, I will call about an hour ahead and ask them to shut the door to the party room and turn on the A/C lower so that by the time everyone arrives it is cooled down. Thank you for a great party.
August 18 · Jenny ParkerThe DISC has been such a lifesaver to me over the past few years. I have found a wonderful community of like minded-minded fitness friends to help me on my fitness journey. The DISC has a wide variety of workout classes, fitness equipment and incredible staff to help accommodate every type of fitness need. No judgements … just help and education whenever needed. It’s a bonus that the instructors clearly love what they do and want to help you find the routine and class that suits the needs you have and want. It’s like family . Every one should give this club a try.
August 22 · Liz BartimusMy son absolutely loves attending DISC Daycamp whenever school is out. He’s genuinely excited to go, even on days I don’t actually need child care, he’ll beg me to sign him up.He enjoys spending time with the other kids and always looks forward to the variety of field trips they take. While swimming isn’t his favorite, he still loves that they visit Splash Cove so often in the summer. That says a lot about how much fun he’s having. He talks about the counselors like they’re the coolest people. He thinks they’re close to his age, even though they’re not, which just shows how well they connect with the kids.As a parent, I love that he’s being well taken care of, active, and away from screens. I also appreciate that I don’t have to pay extra for the field trips, including Splash Cove admission. This camp has been a great fit for our family, and I’m really thankful it exists.
May 20 · Julie FaneThe DISC is a good place to exercise. It has nice workout areas with a variety of equipment, including: free weights, weight machines, ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bikes and rowing machines. There is a 1/8 mile track for walkers and runners. The facilities are clean and quite nicely organized. The weight room, in particular, is rarely crowded. I may have to move to another machine, but I never have to wait in line to workout. The fees are reasonable. Discounts are available to students, Millikin University alumni and seniors. There are a couple of drawbacks. One is holiday and summer hours are somewhat restricted. The other is staff is rarely available to explain equipment functions or monitor activities. The positive factors outweigh these negatives for me.I recommend the DISC.
August 02 · Gregory BarnesThe staff are awesome, understanding people and the exercise places are amazing. The atmosphere of the place is fantastic as well, really exercise-like. Another thing that is a pro is how clean the place is and how organized it is as well when i step in there all the way from the point of me leaving, Excellent consistency of cleaning and etc. but the biggest problem i have and a big holdback from this review being 5 stars, is that they don't announce any events anymore, especially for the open gym for hoopers. It would be extremely informational and helpful if they can put the event's on google maps, any event whatsoever or in front of the place, in front of the doors again where there were signs there saying a specific part of the Disc that is closed and won't be available for the day because it doesn't happen anymore many years prior to the present day now. Sometimes you will not get notified about an event even when you walk in and check in and go to the open gym, and then when you find out that there is an event going on and they didn't even let you know about it, it is puzzling and rage inducing, especially if you drove there wanting to make the most out of your time. Oh, wasted gas, especially if you try to go on specific days you think an event isn't going to happen or trying to go days in a row for constant training. That is the only problem i have with the Disc, nothing else.
