CKO Kickboxing Park Slope Introduce
In a city as competitive and fast-paced as New York, finding a gym that delivers on its promise of real results and a supportive community can be a rare find. CKO Kickboxing Park Slope, nestled in the vibrant heart of Brooklyn, offers an experience that goes far beyond a typical workout. It's an environment where people are not just getting in shape, but are also learning a valuable skill, boosting their confidence, and finding an outlet for stress. This gym stands out for its high-energy, high-intensity classes that utilize real heavy bags to provide a full-body workout that is both empowering and effective. The unpretentious atmosphere, combined with the expertise of its trainers, creates a unique space where members feel motivated to push their limits and achieve their fitness goals.
The essence of the CKO experience is its blend of fitness and kickboxing techniques. The classes are a dynamic mix of heavy bag work and calisthenics, designed to engage every muscle group and burn a significant number of calories in a single 50-minute session. Members are not just punching and kicking aimlessly; they are learning fundamental self-defense skills and moving with purpose. This dual benefit of a physical workout and skill acquisition is a key differentiator that makes the workout so appealing and "worth it" for so many. The instructors, some of whom are actual competitors, are consistently praised for their kindness and ability to train you "like you're preparing for a real fight," while maintaining a supportive and non-intimidating environment. This balance of being pushed to your best and feeling completely at ease is a hallmark of the CKO community. The gym fosters a sense of empowerment, leaving members feeling stronger and more confident after each class.
Located at 333 Schermerhorn St in Brooklyn, NY 11217, CKO Kickboxing Park Slope is conveniently situated for residents of the Park Slope area and neighboring communities. Its urban location makes it a practical choice for anyone looking for a powerful workout without a long commute. The gym is committed to accessibility, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and even a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, which is a thoughtful and important feature. While paid street parking is available, the gym's proximity to major public transit hubs also makes it easy to reach. The focus on onsite services means that the CKO experience is all about the energy of the group class and the hands-on instruction you get from the trainers. However, it's important to note that a membership is required to participate, which speaks to the value and commitment that the gym offers to its members. The straightforward payment options, including credit cards and debit cards, make signing up and managing your membership a hassle-free process.
The services offered at CKO Kickboxing are specialized and designed for maximum impact. The core of the gym's offering is its signature kickboxing classes. These are not your typical, dance-like cardio classes; they are high-energy, real-deal workouts that utilize heavy bags to provide resistance and power to your movements. The classes are structured to accommodate all fitness levels, from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners, allowing everyone to go at their own pace while still being challenged. In addition to the group classes, CKO also offers personal training. This is a great option for those who want one-on-one attention to hone their technique or work on specific fitness goals. This combination of group energy and personalized guidance ensures that every member can find the support they need to succeed. The focus on a few key services allows CKO to be exceptional at what it does, rather than trying to be a one-size-fits-all gym.
Services offered:
- Kickboxing classes: High-intensity, full-body workouts using heavy bags for resistance and power.
- Personal training: One-on-one sessions with a top-tier trainer to help you achieve specific fitness and skill-based goals.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I truly miss CKO — especially the incredible energy and motivation from Cobe! It was more than just a high-intensity workout — it was an experience that empowered both body and mind. Each class left me feeling stronger, more confident, and ready to take on anything. From learning real self-defense techniques to sweating it out to great music, CKO was a total mind-body boost. Please bring a CKO location to Howard Beach — we need it here! The community would benefit so much from the energy, empowerment, and strength that CKO brings. There’s nothing else like it!
August 02 · Maria SkovranovaUnpretentious gym with top-tier trainers — some of whom actually compete themselves — and they’re all incredibly kind. They train you like you're preparing for a real fight. The result? You’re not just getting in shape; you’re learning how to move with purpose and use your body to your advantage. Most importantly, I did it to invest in my health — everything else is an amazing bonus.Just 3 days a week, 50-minute sessions — and not only did I shred fat and enhance my physique, but Im also developing a life-changing skill along the way. It’s so worth it for me.
June 14 · DeanA gem of a gym! I started going here in January of 2023 when I first did the intro week. I took a break after, as, to be honest, I tend to take a fairly frugal approach to my working out (always choosing running over joining a gym, etc). I had tried other gyms over the years, and this one definitely stuck with me the most!Fast forward a year and this place hadn’t left my mind. I joined with a year-long membership in February of this year, and haven’t once regretted my decision! I am much more fit than I was when I just stuck to running, and feel even better and stronger with each month that passes of taking these classes. The instructors are incredibly kind and welcoming and are very dedicated to their craft and to teaching. Each instructor brings something new to their classes, so I definitely recommend taking a variety throughout the week.I guarantee you will leave each class having had an amazing workout and feeling incredible! The sense of community at this gym is super unique and unbeatable and I’ve never found another place like it in NYC.The memberships are a great deal as well, since you can go as often as you’d like with an unlimited. Highly recommend checking out CKO Downtown Brooklyn- you won’t regret it!
October 24 · Annika WhiteI love this place! I started going in 2019 before the pandemic hit and "attended" online classes during covid (which was a life saver!). And back at the gym since we could go back in person! Where have you been all my life?!?If you like an active, sweaty and different every time work out, you'll love this place, too. The instructors are amazing, sweet and funny and always motivating. They all have different styles and the schedule is very flexible which I appreciate with my personal lifestyle. The gym is also super clean - huge plus too!
October 28 · Eliane BugodI've been coming here for 10 months now. Martin's positive energy is consistent and he takes the time to pay individual attention to students throughout the class. Love his motto, "Yes you can!" (It does help get through squats.)Def recommend taking his classes!
