Now nearly 6 months later I’m comfortable with weightlifting, and the diet and exercise habits I worked on with Hugh have just become normal routine. And I’ve enjoyed working out at Capacity so much that I’m continuing to train with Hugh beyond the 12 week program! Hugh has been such a great personal trainer - he’s super encouraging but also holds you accountable, and has been very flexible with my busy schedule. He’s made working out a fun lifestyle and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer for any level of fitness and experience!

Before starting at Capacity, I hadn’t spent much time in the gym, so I was scared and intimidated to even begin. But I was quickly won over by the welcoming vibe. People here are at all skill levels, everyone shows up and works hard, but it doesn’t feel like a competition. I appreciate that Hugh explains the workout and helps me track and celebrate my progress. The workouts feel fun and I always leave feeling accomplished. Hugh has provided encouragement and helped me stay accountable to myself, and coached me to a level of fitness I never thought was possible!
June 23 · Stephanie Pankow5 stars aren’t enough for what I consider to be a hidden gem in Baltimore City. I have gone to all kinds of gyms from Equinox to Planet Fitness, cross fitness to F45, trying to find the right balance of access to workout equipment and coach-guided exercises. Capacity has by far been the best experience and it shows in my results. The 1-on-1 sessions are personalized to your specific needs and the coaches pay close attention to your progress and any challenging areas to adjust accordingly. The group classes are KILLER. The best workouts I’ve ever been through in terms of pushing me to new limits and seeing those results. I had no idea the impact that having the right people beside me working out would have on my performance. The motivation and support that comes from not only the coaches but also the other members has 100% pushed me to do better. To top it all off, the gym is in a perfect location on the water with easy parking and huge doors that open up to let us look at the water while the workouts kick our butt. I recommend everyone give it a try if you’re looking for a better fitness experience or you’ve plateaued with your results. You won’t regret it.

I worked with him for several months and saw firsthand the care he takes with each person he coaches. We met weekly and I left each meeting feeling energized and ready to tackle the week ahead. In addition to helping me lock in specific habits related to my health, checking on me on a regular basis, and holding me accountable when life was busy, he took the time to listen so we could jointly uncover the things that were holding me back. Rarely have I seen someone be so excited for someone else’s wins and perseverance. Hugh is incredibly warm, supportive, and kind: three breaths of fresh air in the coaching space.
