Buckeye Volleyball Club Introduce
Buckeye Volleyball Club is a specialized "gym" in Newark, Ohio, that focuses exclusively on the sport of volleyball. While it is classified as a gym, it should be understood as a dedicated training facility for volleyball athletes, providing a unique and targeted environment for skill development and competition. For families in Newark and surrounding areas, including Heath and Granville, this club offers a structured pathway for young athletes to hone their skills and reach their full potential in the sport. The club has a history of success and a philosophy centered on teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude, which are considered essential for success both on and off the court. The facility is equipped with full-size courts, designed to provide the best possible setting for high-quality practices and high-level competition. This single-sport focus distinguishes it from a traditional fitness center and makes it a premier destination for aspiring volleyball players in Central Ohio. The environment is designed to be a place where athletes can develop not just their physical skills but also their character and a love for the game. However, a key part of the member experience is the communication and organization. As one review notes, this is a point of potential frustration, with challenges in getting timely responses to questions and receiving confirmation. While this is a clear area for improvement, the core purpose of the club remains centered on providing a strong training ground for athletes. The reviewer, despite their frustrations, was still willing to give the clinics a try, hoping the on-court experience would outweigh the communication issues, which speaks to the underlying belief in the quality of the training itself.
The facility itself, located in a building that has seen better days according to a review, has the potential for more. A reviewer commented that the building "could really use some attention, both inside and out," and even pointed out that old basketball courts outside could be a "new" source of revenue if cleaned up. This kind of feedback provides a candid look at the facility, suggesting that while the interior courts are likely functional for their purpose, the overall appearance and external features might not be up to the same standard as more modern facilities. It's a key point for potential members to consider. However, the true value of a specialized sports gym like this often lies in the quality of coaching and the opportunities it provides, rather than just the physical amenities. The club’s focus is on developing athletes, and that is where its true strength lies. The hope from a frustrated parent for the clinics to be better than the organization is a powerful endorsement of the core offering: the coaching and training itself. The club's identity is tied to its purpose of empowering athletes to reach their goals and providing a respected program for junior volleyball, which is recognized as one of the most respected clubs in the Ohio Valley Region. It is a place for dedicated athletes and their families, who understand that the real value is on the court and in the quality of the instruction provided.
Buckeye Volleyball Club is located at 1857-1845 W Main St, Newark, OH 43055, USA. This address places the facility on a major thoroughfare in Newark, making it a relatively easy location to find for families in the area. The address is a familiar landmark for many residents and is conveniently located for those traveling from nearby towns like Heath, Granville, or even Columbus. The review about the building's exterior and lack of attention is a point to consider, as it may affect a visitor's first impression. However, the accessibility for parking appears to be straightforward, given the typical setup of a gym in a commercial area. The location is practical and serves as a central hub for the club's activities in the Licking County area. Since the club is a specialized facility for volleyball, it is a known destination for families involved in the sport, and its location on West Main Street is a key part of its local identity. While it may not be a state-of-the-art building, its location provides a convenient meeting point for practices, clinics, and competitions.

Buckeye Volleyball Club Reviews
This building could really use some attention. Both inside and out. Looks like there use to be outside basketball courts. Them alone if cleaned up could be a "new" revenue source(?)...
May 01 · Eric HatcherThis is our first experience with Buckeye Volleyball. The website explains what each clinic and training entails but if you have any questions don’t expect to get answers. Since this was our first experience I had questions. I visited the location in Newark but on one was around. I called and left two messages on the main number but did not receive a call back. I Facebook messaged with no response. Last attempt was email and finally received a response. You register online and pay with PayPal but you will not receive a confirmation until the day before the scheduled training or clinic. So if there is a problem you won’t know until it’s too late. Keeping my figures crossed the clinics are better than the organization and communication.
November 02 · Crystal HannahLots of room and good food, compared to other clubs. Parts of the building are dated and need some repairs.
January 27 · Jeff KellerSeating is ok if you get there early. If not you are sitting on same level behind people. Makes it hard to see sometimes.
March 02 · Jon PeckWeird bathrooms, staff not understanding, not posted food is cash only, ceiling and walls are falling apart, water leaking into facility from outside
February 21 · Stephen Iram
