PLEASE DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS CLASS!!I am a 19-year old college student home for the summer, and I thought the AIR Foundation class would be a fun activity to do with my 12 year old cousin. They had a deal for 5 classes for $99, which we decided to book, hoping to take 5 classes together. (A few weeks later I received an email offering $15 classes, so it ended up not being such a good deal). We received an email the day of the class saying that she was too young for the class, so was unenrolled. I would totally understand if the company wanted their classes to be adult only, but there is no age limit for the Foundation class anywhere on the website. We even complained about the lack of information afterwards, and still nothing has changed. They made an exception for that class, but then wouldn't let her go afterwards, and luckily refunded the rest of her purchased classes. My cousin was very respectful in class, and is of adult size, so I'm still not sure why they wouldn't let her continue, but we are happy she received a refund. I, on the other hand, was not so lucky. We asked for a refund for myself as well, as the whole point of buying the classes was for us to go together and they refused. They explained to us that all purchases were final, but I believe this is unfair, as nowhere on the website did it say my cousin would be too young. Their guidelines were extremely unclear. I intentionally booked the classes as an activity to do together, and then I was left with 4 classes that I had to use by myself. As I mentioned before, I am only 19 years old and a full time student, so this was quite a lot of money for me to spend on something that I couldn't even use with my cousin. After multiple emails back and forth, I decided to try to make the most of my remaining classes, but was unfortunately extremely disappointed in that as well. If you look on their schedule, you will notice that they offer very few classes per day, and most are at an inconvenient time. For example, there are only classes at 6am and 7am on Fridays. Additionally, classes are frequently canceled. (There was one weekend I attempted to go and every single class was canceled). So not only was I stuck with 4 classes to use, I had a very, very hard time finding a time that I could actually go at. In terms of the workout, it is definitely something different, but I didn't think it was anything all that amazing or worthwhile. The biggest issue for me was how much the class hurt. No matter what I wore, the ropes dug into my skin. I even ended up with bruises on my hips after one class. I told this to multiple instructors, and they all told me that the pain was normal and just something to get used to. I personally don't think that any class that leaves you in physical pain and with visible bruises is worthwhile or something I would like to get used to. There was also one class where I nearly slipped head first out of my hammock, and I was appalled that the instructor never reviewed how to safely get out of your hammock prior to getting myself into this position.Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the management and quality of workout from AIR, and would not recommend anybody spend their money on it. It was a huge waste of $99 for me. - Taylor Eskin

AIR Aerial Fitness Introduce

Introduction / Overview

Southern California's fitness scene is continually evolving, pushing boundaries far beyond the traditional treadmill and weight rack. For those in the Los Angeles area looking for a workout that is as exhilarating as it is effective, AIR Aerial Fitness offers a revolutionary approach to core strength and body toning. Recognized as the nation's leading aerial fitness training method, AIR provides a dynamic and intense physical fitness program that literally turns your workout upside down.

AIR Aerial Fitness fuses elements from various disciplines—including conditioning, Pilates, ballet, and High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)—all performed while suspended in an aerial hammock. This methodology is designed to strengthen your core and tone your physique in what the studio proudly claims is "record-breaking time." The use of the hammock introduces an element of instability that forces deep core engagement, providing an unmatched full-body workout that challenges strength, flexibility, and balance in ways traditional ground-based exercise cannot. It's a boutique fitness center environment that promises to elevate your routine and is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, welcoming beginners through its specialized introductory classes.

Location and Accessibility

The Los Angeles studio of AIR Aerial Fitness is strategically located in West LA, easily accessible to residents across Santa Monica, Culver City, and the wider Los Angeles area.

The facility is situated at: 11747 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA.

This West Pico Boulevard address is conveniently located near major routes, offering accessibility for your daily commute or weekend fitness schedule. The studio operates with onsite services for all its classes. Understanding the local user's need for convenience, the location provides a wheelchair accessible parking lot, easing the stress of navigating parking in a busy urban area. Additionally, the facility is equipped with a restroom for client comfort.

Given the specialized nature of aerial training and the limited capacity of their classes (due to the number of hammocks), pre-booking classes online is strongly recommended to secure your spot. The studio accepts credit cards and debit cards for payment.

Services Offered

AIR Aerial Fitness offers a focused range of classes, all utilizing the aerial hammock to deliver a unique and effective full-body workout. These physical fitness programs are structured to cater to every step of a client's aerial journey, from complete novice to advanced aerial enthusiast.

  • AIR® Foundation (All-Level Aerial Fitness): A 50-minute introductory class perfect for new clients. It focuses on basic alignment, foundation, and muscle action necessary to balance safely in the aerial hammocks. This is the recommended starting point for most newcomers, fusing conditioning, Pilates, ballet, and HIIT.
  • Intro to AIR®: A dedicated class for those with absolutely no aerial experience, offering a slower pace to ease clients into the new environment and movements.
  • AIR® Core: A 30-minute high-intensity session focused exclusively on abdominal strength. This class uses the hammock to support Pilates-inspired ab work, targeting the upper, lower, and oblique core muscles more efficiently. It is recommended for clients already familiar with the AIR® Foundation class format.
  • AIR® Flow (Aerial Yoga): A 50-minute mixed-level class that combines traditional yoga poses with the aerial hammock. This is ideal for those seeking a deep, supported stretch, increased flexibility, and a focus on linking movement with breath in a more recovery-focused format.
  • AIR® (Intermediate/Advanced): A progression class that maintains the intense fusion of conditioning, Pilates, ballet, and HIIT, but introduces more advanced movements, wraps, drops, and complex sequencing for clients ready to take their aerial practice to the next level.
  • Private Sessions: One-on-one sessions for personalized training, specialized skill work, or to substitute for an introductory class before joining the group format.
  • Group Parties and Events: Offering unique options for group events such as kids' birthdays, bachelorette parties, and corporate team-building events, providing a fun and memorable experience.

Features / Highlights

  • Core Strength via Hammock Instability: The core value proposition is the use of the aerial hammock, which necessitates constant engagement of the deep abdominal muscles. This method is lauded for delivering transformative core strength and superior body toning—many consider it "The Best Core Workout In The World."

  • Deep Stretching and Spinal Decompression: The use of the hammock and gravity allows clients to achieve a deeper, more supported stretch than is possible in traditional ground-based yoga or fitness, which can be highly beneficial for spinal health and flexibility.
  • A Fun and Welcoming Community: Despite the intensity, the atmosphere is generally described as fun, supportive, and full of likeminded individuals. If your fitness goals involve rapid core strengthening, improved flexibility, and body toning, the AIR methodology, which leverages the instability of the aerial hammock, provides a pathway to those results that few other programs can match. Clients are continually challenged to achieve "fun new shapes" while learning to master their own bodyweight and spatial awareness.

It is important for local users to note the specialized nature of the studio's operations, including the absolute necessity of pre-booking and the strict policies regarding purchases. Users should be aware that the high-intensity nature of the aerial workout can cause initial physical discomfort, such as rope-digging, as the body adjusts, and should prepare with appropriate, comfortable clothing and a willingness to commit to the adjustment period. The studio’s commitment to safety is evident in their strict class commencement times and weight limits for the apparatus.

Ultimately, you choose AIR Aerial Fitness for a highly specialized, intense, and empowering physical transformation.
