Uptown Strength NYC Reviews
When I moved to Harlem last summer and began looking for a new gym to join, I was disheartened to discover that many of the gyms that offered group HIIT classes had succumbed to the pandemic and hadn’t returned. It appears someone has finally answered the call.Uptown Strength offers strength and conditioning classes at 3 levels (separated by complexity of the movements; all levels are equally challenging), as well as boxing classes. The array of available equipment is pretty robust for the gym’s size, which allows them to also offer bookable open gym periods for the hours there isn’t a class in session. Every trainer I’ve had is knowledgeable and very attentive, and the workouts are among the most intense I’ve experienced in the city. Grateful to have a gym like this back in the neighborhood.
June 04 · Andrew EdgarUptown strength is such a great addition to the neighborhood. I've been doing personal training and have taken a class. Serge and Thomas are great at what they do.More importantly I left the other day thinking how great the community of this gym is. I highly recommend if you're looking to develop your strength skills and enjoy a supportive community.
April 18 · Camillie YuasaAfter exploring different fitness classes in NYC, Uptown Strength has been the best one! Both Thomas and Serge create a very welcoming space that pushes you to the next level. I am excited to continue training !
June 24 · Monique OroI’ve only been going to Uptown Strength for about two weeks now, but this place has already changed my life for the better. I was intimidated and scared to start, but everyone is so welcoming and encouraging! I always leave feeling better than I walked in (mentally and physically) and am stupidly grateful to Thomas and Serge. They’ve helped me tap into self-belief in a whole new way. If you’re thinking about taking a class, just do it already!
November 01 · Megan MarshallUptown Strength is GREAT! I was really scared to take a class here because the weights/ set up look intimidating to me BUT Thomas, the owner, makes me feel soooo comfortable in this new environment. He’s the definition of professional, knowledgeable, and skilled. He pushes you to challenge yourself every single time. He provides lots of individual/personalized attention, even in a full class, so you never feel abandoned. The classes are set up nicely too, he know what he doing!!! And the music is LOUD, I love loud music during a workout. And the gym is clean, the bathroom is CLEAN! As Thomas would say, “YOU TOUGH!” so definitely check this gym out and test your own strength! You will never regret a good workout! :)
