What is worth choosing
The Barre in Long Beach is an excellent choice for California residents seeking a specialized, nurturing, and effective low-impact fitness regimen. What is truly worth choosing here is the combination of the studio's specialized method and its highly-rated Community atmosphere. Many conventional gyms cannot offer the deep, targeted muscular work achieved through Barre and Pilates, nor can they consistently provide the personalized attention and form correction that a dedicated studio like this offers, particularly with its required appointment-based system.
The value proposition is clear for those who prioritize long-term, sustainable physical health: the low-impact nature of the workouts is a significant advantage for joint health and rehabilitation, making it accessible to a broader range of ages and fitness levels. Furthermore, the commitment to a welcoming environment, as highlighted by customer reviews, transforms the workout from a chore into an enjoyable, social activity. A free introductory class is explicitly mentioned by members as a key step, indicating the studio’s confidence in its ability to quickly win over new clients.
However, prospective members should be aware that this is a specialized studio, not a full-service gym. There are no expansive free-weight areas, cardio machine rooms, or pools. The focus is strictly on mat work, barre, and resistance-based movements. If your primary goal is heavy weightlifting or using traditional gym equipment, this may not be the right fit. For those who want to tone, strengthen the core, improve flexibility, and be part of a supportive, woman-owned local business, The Barre at 5207 E Pacific Coast Hwy offers a top-tier, unique fitness solution that genuinely contributes to Long Beach’s vibrant wellness culture.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Absolutely love classes here! I have found my place within the fitness community ❤️ Lauren , one of the instructors, is the reason why I decided to Commit to a membership. Definitely should take advantage of a free class. You won’t regret it. The community is welcoming and you feel included.
September 16 · Torri TownsI took my first MAT Pilates class at The Barre with Amanda today and it was great! It was the perfect combo of ab and glute work and it really allowed me to challenge myself.I look forward to joining again! 💚
July 17 · Zzzahkia BurnleyBeautiful studio, friendly and helpful instructors, and the fellow members represent the Long Beach community I know and love. I was more of a yoga/mat Pilates gal, but barre is quickly growing on me. It’s a great mix of low impact high value. I can never convince myself I’m too tired to go, and I leave feeling amazing. I’m logging 5 classes a week - the unlimited founding membership deal was too good to pass up! Thanks for opening up in my neighborhood!
June 11 · Katie TaylorI’m so thrilled about the studio. The classes are amazing (I’m totally looking forward to my new abs by the end of the summer) and the instructors are so sweet and supportive. Love the atmosphere and community. And did I mention the pricing is great??
June 09 · Jasmine LewHighly recommend the Barre! Just as bar method where I used to go moved further away and rose their prices, I discovered this gem. It’s just $150 per month of unlimited classes and lots of time options throughout the week. There’s a variety of barre, Pilates, ballet, and “buff barre”.
