What is worth choosing?
SportHouse Athletic Center is a top choice for many reasons, particularly for residents in the Norton Shores and greater Michigan area. Its primary appeal lies in its dual function as both a modern gym and a versatile sports facility. The 24/7 access is a game-changer for anyone with a busy or unpredictable schedule, offering the ultimate convenience. You don't have to worry about rushing to beat closing time; the gym is always there when you need it. While some members have noted the recent change to a membership-only model, this shift also ensures a more dedicated and consistent community. The move to end day passes streamlines operations and reinforces a focus on long-term fitness goals, a common practice in many professional athletic centers. Although some customers may miss the day pass option, it's a strategic decision that allows the facility to prioritize its members and potentially enhance the overall quality of services.
Beyond the gym itself, the presence of dedicated basketball and volleyball courts is a major differentiator. For sports enthusiasts, this facility provides a professional-grade environment that can be hard to find elsewhere. It’s a perfect spot for local leagues, team practices, or just a friendly game with friends. The fact that the center hosts large-scale tournaments speaks to the quality of its facilities and its reputation within the regional sports community. The inclusion of a sauna is another significant bonus, underscoring the center's commitment to holistic wellness and post-workout recovery. Moreover, the facility's strong focus on accessibility, with wheelchair-friendly amenities, makes it an inclusive space for all members of the community, which is a commendable and important factor. While parking can be a bit tight during peak tournament times, the overall availability is good, and the convenience of the location makes it an easy choice. In essence, SportHouse Athletic Center offers a comprehensive, flexible, and well-rounded fitness and sports experience that is truly worth choosing for anyone in Michigan looking to invest in their health and well-being.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was here for a volleyball tournament, and I found the facility, inviting, clean, and comfortable. Although they have a lot of parking, it seems they need more parking spaces for these big volleyball tournaments. I normally pay five dollars to get into tournaments, it was $10 here. Pretty steep....especially if you bring the family. Although, kids under 12 enter for free.
March 05 · danicajheyUsed to be a 5 star, then they got rid of half the building. The good "ish" tradeoff is it went to 24/7. Now effective today they no longer offer day passes. Starting to get less and less for the 120 I'm spending monthly here. Will be looking to possibly switching to the Y.
April 01 · Chris PalmerCut 1/2 their services and are still charging full price. I was disappointed as this used to be my home gym. Hopefully someday they can reopen at full strength!
April 16 · Sam HansenI really liked this place as a gym. I'm not sure how the economics work, It always seemed pretty empty to me relative to the size of certain amenities. Multiple locker areas, saunas, tub, rock climbing walls etcThey must bring in a lot hosting area volleyball and basketball events. It's always clean and had the free weights and machines any large scale franchise gym would have.We were only in town a month but went almost every day and it was great.
August 11 · Adam CollingsComprehensive athletic club with racquetball, pool, cardio, weights and a tall climbing wall. Family membership is $160 for Fitness and $190 for Gold which includes tennis. That's significantly more expensive than the SL Aquatic Center and the Y.
