Reforming Pilates Introduce
In the vast and sometimes intimidating fitness scene of New York City, finding a studio that feels like a safe haven for beginners can be a real challenge. Reforming Pilates, a hidden gem on the Upper East Side, is that very sanctuary. This studio is built on a simple yet profound philosophy: to provide a clean, beautiful, and welcoming space where everyone, regardless of their fitness level, can explore the transformative benefits of Pilates. The owners, Daniel and Jen, have poured their heart into curating an environment that is not only physically conducive to a great workout but also emotionally and mentally supportive. This focus on creating a safe, inclusive space is what truly sets it apart from larger, more impersonal studios in the city.
The studio's charm and commitment to its clients are evident from the moment you step inside. As one new client expressed, finding a beginner-friendly studio was a long and frustrating journey until they discovered Reforming Pilates. They described the space as "the CUTEST, CLEANEST, most amazing space." This attention to detail in creating a pristine and aesthetically pleasing environment is part of the overall experience. The smaller class sizes are a deliberate choice, ensuring that every individual gets personalized, hands-on attention from the instructors. This is a crucial element of the Pilates method, as correct form is paramount for effectiveness and injury prevention. The fact that a beginner felt "just treated so sweet" speaks volumes about the caring and supportive community that the studio has built. It’s a place where starting your fitness journey, even after years away, feels not only possible but genuinely wonderful.
This commitment to the client experience extends to every interaction, from the in-class instruction to the initial phone call. The owner, Daniel, is praised for his incredible approach to helping a new client navigate their options, making them feel reassured that they had made the right choice. This level of personal connection is rare and invaluable in a city where businesses can often feel transactional. The instructors, like Quinton and Julianna, are also highlighted for their amazing skills and ability to make classes engaging and effective. Reforming Pilates is more than just a place to exercise; it's a community that fosters confidence, offers support, and makes the journey to a healthier you feel personal and achievable.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am brand new to Pilates and had the hardest time finding a studio that was beginner friendly for so long. Most reviews of studios in the city said “‘not beginner friendly” so kind of gave up on searching for a studio until I found Reformer Pilates. This place is the CUTEST, CLEANEST, most amazing space. Smaller classes so I’ve gotten hands on experience in all 3 of the classes I’ve been to and was just treated so sweet.I recently called to figure out which package was best and spoke to one of the owner Daniel who was incredible. He walked me through the packages, told me a little bit about the studio and how him and his wife Jen have tried so hard to curate a safe, inclusive space and it was just the most reassuring phone call that I’ve made the right choice. This review may seem dramatic to come but I am just getting back into fitness for the first time in years so having such a wonderful experience has been amazing.
