I loved the workouts! If you are new to the gym, this place will get you comfortable with the gym equipment. Buy sessions and the trainers will track what workouts you should do, the gym equipment you need will always be available when you need it, and the trainers will spot you, give demos, and critique your form to make sure you are doing things right. I went from thinking 30 lb dumbbells were heavy and barely doing farmers walks with them to using 32.5 lb dumbbells for overhead presses! I loved that part of the program. That being said, I wouldn't recommend the 6-week program. I upgraded to the 6 week program because the trainer showed me pictures of other people's results and it included nutrition sessions. Usually these programs promise helping you lose 20 lbs. or a noticeable percentage of body fat. I have a wedding coming up in a year and I thought it would be worth it to join this gym for the year to really work on toning my body. Well, in the 6 weeks, I only lost 2 lbs. and .4% body fat. Not really worth it in my opinion. I never had an official weigh-in or pictures taken at the gym. I only know my weight because I have a scale at home and log it myself on an app. The nutrition session wasn't helpful. I said that I realized protein was important so I was aiming to eat 100 grams of protein a day and work my way up to 150 grams a day. The trainer I talked to liked that and said to keep doing what I was doing. No other tips and we never had a check in about it, not even an accountability or progress check in. With no weight loss, no tracking, and no check ins, save some money and only pay for the sessions. For a few hundred dollars more I didn't get anything extra out of the 6 week program. Very disappointing. My other general complaint is that the trainers weren't consistent in using the app the gym used. The morning trainers didn't enter the weight amounts I was lifting into the app, so if I went to the gym at a different time, the trainer working that shift wouldn't know how much I was lifting and I would usually get put at the default light starting weight. Eventually I started keeping track of the weights I was lifting myself on my own app. Hopefully they fix this problem. It was annoying not to A) have access to my lifting progress and B) have the trainers not be able to help me progress because no one was writing anything down. The afternoon guy was good about using the app, but if I went in the morning nothing would be tracked and my progress would be stunted for a session. I am sure if I stuck to the same trainer all the time this would be less of an issue, but with my schedule fluctuating I just wish it could have been a bit more consistent. The gym literally planned for this with the app, but the trainers weren't using the gym's tools.Side notes I wish I knew before I started:-There isn't a changing room here. If you come after work, you need to change in the bathroom. That's fine, just a heads up. The bathroom is across the basketball court and in the afternoon there are kids practicing on the court, so you kind of have to do your best to dodge them and get over there. Arrive to the gym in workout clothes. It's easier if you change before you get there.-Bring your own water! The only water available is a Jug Dispenser. A few times when I went to the gym, they didn't have any available water because all their jugs were empty. I had to do my workout session without access to any water. Bring your own just to be safe. Usually they have cups and the dispenser, but you never knew when they would be out and if it's a rowing / cardio day then you'll wish you brought some. - Becky Connor

For individuals in Maryland who are serious about their fitness and athletic performance, Power Train Sports & Fitness in Rockville offers a unique and highly specialized approach. This is not a typical gym where you're left to your own devices; it is a dedicated training facility that focuses on a personalized, results-driven philosophy. Power Train's programs are designed to help a wide range of clients, from student and professional athletes looking to enhance their performance to adults seeking to get stronger, healthier, and more capable in their daily lives. The gym's core belief is that every person has untapped potential, and its expert coaches are there to help them unlock it. This article will provide a detailed and factual overview of what makes Power Train a compelling choice for those in the local community who want a more structured and guided fitness journey. It is a place where you will find the support and tools necessary to achieve measurable improvements in your strength, speed, and overall physical health. The gym's commitment to individual achievement is what sets it apart and makes it a powerful resource for anyone looking to make a serious change.

The success of Power Train Sports & Fitness is built on its customized training programs and the expertise of its trainers. A major selling point is that clients are not given a generic workout plan. Instead, trainers work with individuals to design a program tailored to their specific goals, whether it's gaining strength, losing weight, or improving athletic performance. A key aspect of the gym's model is the high level of personal attention. As one satisfied member noted, the trainers "will spot you, give demos, and critique your form to make sure you are doing things right." This hands-on approach is invaluable, especially for those new to using gym equipment, as it helps build confidence and ensures safety. The focus on form and technique is a critical component of the program, helping members to not only get stronger but also to prevent injuries, an "unintended consequence" that one long-term member celebrated. This gym is designed for serious, goal-oriented people who understand that lasting results come from hard work and consistent, expert guidance. The atmosphere is one of dedication and focus, making it an ideal environment for those who thrive on structured, results-oriented training.

However, it is important to provide a balanced overview based on all available public feedback. While many members, including a dedicated client who has been with the gym for nearly two years, praise the program's quality, results, and trainer flexibility, others have pointed out areas for improvement. A detailed review highlighted some of the challenges, particularly with the 6-week program and the consistency of tracking client progress. This feedback, while critical, also offers valuable insights into the gym’s processes. For example, it suggests that members should be proactive in tracking their own progress, especially if they have a fluctuating schedule. It also points to the importance of communicating with trainers about specific goals and expectations, particularly for weight loss programs. The review from the avid tennis player, who has been training at Power Train for almost two years and has seen significant improvements, including injury prevention, showcases the long-term benefits of the program. This mix of experiences underscores that while the core training and trainer expertise are highly effective for many, a good fit with the gym's operational style is also key to a successful experience. Potential members in Maryland should take note of these points and consider how the gym’s model aligns with their personal needs and preferences.
