Portland Integrative Fitness Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For residents across the Oregon region, particularly those in the Portland Metro area seeking a fitness experience that transcends the traditional gym model, Portland Integrative Fitness (PIF) offers a truly unique and holistic approach. Situated in Southeast Portland, PIF is not merely a place to lift weights; it is defined as a comprehensive health and fitness center that integrates the roles of a physical rehabilitation center, health consultant, and personal trainer. The overarching philosophy at PIF is the "rehab-to-performance" model, which uses a unique method called ReThryv to guide clients from states of pain and dysfunction to empowered function and vitality.
What sets this establishment apart in the competitive Portland fitness landscape is its profound commitment to personalized care. The team designs custom-tailored workout routines that meet individual needs, whether a client is recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain like sciatica, or looking to optimize performance for a favorite activity such as mountain biking or skiing. This focus on the individual body's complex and multi-faceted story ensures steady progress in strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. Furthermore, PIF is proudly identified as both LGBTQ+ owned and women-owned, fostering an intentionally inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, making it a true safe space and a celebrated fixture in Portland’s vibrant community.

Features / Highlights
Portland Integrative Fitness stands out in the Oregon health and fitness sector for its unique values, methodology, and the high caliber of its professional team.
- Rehab-to-Performance Focus: Their signature ReThryv method takes clients from chronic pain and injury rehabilitation to optimal functional performance, a model rarely offered in traditional gyms. This is evidenced by client success stories of recovering from major surgery and chronic pain.
- Expertise in Postural Restoration Techniques: Trainers, like the owner Gina, are known for their background in Postural Restoration techniques, providing accessible, precise tools to relieve pain and correct underlying movement patterns, which is a major benefit for clients managing complex pain conditions.
- Intentionally Inclusive Environment: The gym identifies as LGBTQ+ owned, women-owned, LGBTQ+ friendly, and a transgender safespace. This deliberate creation of a non-intimidating, supportive community directly counteracts the pressure and uncomfortable dynamics often associated with big box gyms.
- Customized, Progressive Programming: Workouts are not generic; they are constantly updated and custom-designed based on the client’s individual progress, ensuring steady gains in strength, mobility, and endurance, even for highly specific goals like improving mountain biking or skiing performance.
- Holistic and Supportive Atmosphere: The facility is described as feeling more like an intimate, light-filled yoga studio than an industrial gym, focusing on accomplishments and health-promoting behavior while actively avoiding fatphobic or dangerous diet culture language.
- Flexible Training Options: Clients can easily switch between in-person and virtual training sessions, and their purchased punchcards do not expire, offering unparalleled flexibility to busy Oregon residents.
- Amenities for Comfort: The space includes private shower facilities, clean restrooms, and Wi-Fi access, providing convenience and comfort for clients scheduling sessions around their workday.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Highly recommend Gina and her team of trainers. The team designed a training plan that helped me recover from abdominal surgery and manage sciatic nerve pain caused from a slipped disc. Gina’s background in Postural restoration techniques gave me accessible tools to relieve pain during my work day. The workout routines were designed to meet my individual needs. The workouts are updated on regular basis as I gain strength, mobility and endurance. After 2 years of training here, I am almost pain free, feel stronger, and sleep through the night.
September 23 · G NPIF has the best trainers and offering I've found, and I've used trainers for years. My PT referred me - so glad she did! I'm happy with the steady progress I've made in strength and flexibility. Danielle and Madison are terrific, they're very knowledgeable and make helpful suggestions to get the most out of a session. It's nice to be able to work with them one-on-one or in a group setting. The days and hours they're open make it easy to work out and harder to have an excuse not to...
August 16 · Wendy WellsI’m so grateful to have found Portland Integrative Fitness. Gina and her team are top notch. They truly care about your well being and are great at guiding through new exercises that build upon each other. The space and environment are clean and comfortable. I bring my 3 year old along who enjoys the childcare, another wonderful feature of PIF. Highly recommend to anyone in Portland wanting to recover from injury, or just get stronger and focus on longevity.
July 26 · Greg GardnerPortland Integrative Fitness is a total gem. They offer customized and effective workout programs and are so attentive and responsive to what you need on any given day. I give myself such a gift whenever I go - I know I’m going to be both supported and pushed. When pregnant, I was excited about the specialized guidance. Now I’m sold on the community, the positive vibes, and how I’m building strength and resilience without injury.
July 08 · Kate GasnerI love this gym! As a young, healthy woman I started just about as un-fit as possible. I was scared to exercise. This kind, judgment free atmosphere met me where I was at and helped me to form healthy fitness goals and aspirations. They challenged me when I was having lazy days and motivated me when I didn't want to show up. I love the evening availability and coaches. Every session I'm met with gentle encouragement. It's a pressure free environment that supports me to achieve what I want from my body.
