Peak Gymnastics Academy Introduce
For North Carolina families in the Triangle area seeking a dedicated sports complex focused on youth development, Peak Gymnastics Academy in Apex stands as a committed center for excellence in gymnastics and cheerleading. Serving as a specialized Gymnastics Center, the facility offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to cater to every skill level, from the youngest beginner to the aspiring competitive athlete.
Peak Gymnastics Academy is distinguished by its dual focus on recreational development and elite competitive training, hosting both the Women's Artistic Competitive Team (participating in USAG sanctioned events) and the Carolina Thunder All-Star Cheerleading program (competing in USASF/IEP events). Whether your child is just taking their very first steps in a Preschool Class or training for an advanced skill like a back handspring, the Academy is structured to provide the foundational strength, flexibility, and technique needed to succeed. The facility provides a space for learning, fun, and rigorous discipline, with a core offering that includes everything from private lessons and group classes to high-energy Summer Camps and Open Gym sessions.
It is worth noting that, like any highly specialized sports center, the operational focus can be intense. While some customers rave about the fun and engaging atmosphere of the camps and the quality of the competitive programs, others have noted challenges regarding organization and direction for children enrolled in the recreational, non-competitive classes. This suggests the Academy's primary passion and structure are strongly geared toward its competitive track and younger participants, but it remains a full-service complex committed to athletic development.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I don’t recommend the recreational classes here. They only care about the cheer team here. There always a lot going on and it’s hard for the new kids to find their classes. The coaches don’t come out to get the kids. I mentioned this and was told they only come out for the little kids the older kids know where to go. My daughter is 9 not sure how she is expected to know which is her coach in a group of unknown adults that none asked her where she need to go. She said she was overwhelmed and didn’t want to go up and randomly ask someone. The lady at the front said she would help but she after she finished signing someone up, just seems unorganized. If your looking for a tumble class there are definitely better ran places then this one, overall just messy and unorganized.
August 06 · Amanda KesslerRecently signed my daughter up for summer camp and she LOVED it, so much so we are enrolling her in another week of camp. The counselors and staff are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place!
June 20 · Maryam KhayamiOpen gym Fridays 10-11am $5. Super great time, our kid loves the pit and running trampoline, and everything else! Not too crowded either.
February 23 · Nathan VeyI was disappointed with the cleanliness of this gymnastics facility. The equipment and floors didn’t appear to be properly cleaned or maintained, which raises concerns about hygiene and safety. As a place where children and adults are active, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment should be a top priority. While the staff seemed friendly and the activities offered were decent, the lack of cleanliness overshadowed the experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their cleaning standards. I wouldn’t recommend this place until these issues are addressed.
January 26 · Mimi22I am the luckiest mom in the world. From the moment my daughter and I stepped foot in the doors of Peak Gymnastics Academy, we knew this was home. I knew my daughter wasn't just a number or a means to make more money. In fact, though we came from a team prior to moving here, the coaches at PGA placed my daughter in recreational to develop some of her deficits first before putting her on a team. We've been with PGA now for 7 years. This is home for us. The care and consideration that comes from the top down in this organization is exactly what I would want for any gymnast and mom (or dad). My daughter is loved here and truly HATES when she's not in the gym. Did I already say that this is home for us. I could go on about how knowledgeable the staff is about necessary skulls and PT for specific injuries but those are things you would expect from a gym. What makes PEAK special is the HEART of its owner, Angie, and her staff. It makes me sad to see my daughter's career coming to an end because that means we have to say good bye soon but I know for sure that we will always have a home here!
