Parkinson's Boxing Introduce
For residents of the New York region living with Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders, finding a targeted and effective exercise program is a crucial part of managing their condition. Parkinson's Boxing in Buffalo, NY, offers a unique and life-changing solution. This is not a typical boxing gym; it is a specialized sports coaching program dedicated to a systematic boxing curriculum designed to combat the symptoms of these diseases, particularly those affecting balance and body movement. The philosophy behind the program is rooted in scientific evidence that shows how vigorous exercise, especially the dynamic movements found in boxing, can have a neuroprotective effect and favorably influence the progression of the disease. The coaches at Parkinson's Boxing believe that by teaching clients how to "fight back" against their diagnosis, they can help them restore the motion and independence they thought was gone forever. It is an inspiring and empowering environment where the focus is not on winning a boxing match, but on winning the daily battle against a relentless disease. This specialized approach, combined with the unwavering dedication of the coaches, makes Parkinson's Boxing a beacon of hope and a vital resource for the New York community.
The core of the program’s success lies in its commitment to providing an individualized and personalized experience. As one client, who had previously tried other programs, noted, what separates Parkinson's Boxing is "the individual attention." This dedication to personal attention ensures that each participant's unique needs are addressed, and their program is continuously adjusted to help them achieve their specific goals. The positive and supportive atmosphere is another key component. Clients consistently praise the coaches for being "friendly and dedicated," and for being "supportive, upbeat and great to be around." This kind of community-centered environment provides not only physical benefits but also a significant mental uplift. As another client shared, they "feel physically and mentally uplifted" after a workout. The coaching goes beyond just physical training, offering a space where clients feel empowered and encouraged, which is invaluable in their fight against their disease. Parkinson's Boxing Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in July 2023. Both the neurologist and physical therapist recommended boxing as an exercise that would ward off the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Since that time I have been to three facilities that offer a boxing program for PD. Two were in Florida and were group classes. Exercises that were offered were “one size fits most” which we all know is never true. What separates Parkinson’s boxing from the other two programs I attended was the individual attention. I work one on one with a coach at Parkinson’s boxing. The program is tailored to me and my abilities. All of the coaches are friendly and dedicated to helping me fight this disease. I highly recommend.
July 03 · JoAnn RizzoParkinson’s Boxing has been life changing for me. I was diagnosed almost 6 years ago and started at Parkinson’s Boxing in March of 2022. My trainer Zach Bauer is amazing and in my opinion the absolute best trainer. I am not only stronger, my balance is improved and I can now jump rope and run. When I leave after a workout I feel physically and mentally uplifted. Every trainer I’ve come in contact with is supportive, upbeat and great to be around. If possible I’d give Parkinson’s Boxing 10 stars
November 17 · Joyce BudzynskiSince joining Parkinson’s Boxing at the Hamburg location, I have had the privilege of working with a majority of the trainers. They are all very professional, treat you with respect and truly care about your progress. Don’t let the name be deceiving. It’s not like you get in the ring and box against another participant. If you are skeptical, give it a try it truly can’t hurt. You also get the chance to meet and talk to other individuals who have the same disease as you. I only wish they had a location in Florida so I could attend sessions there over the winter while being a “snowbird”.
September 02 · Kurt CovertFor anyone diagnosed with PD, this is well worth the time and cost. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s much more than boxing. You have your own trainer and they work with you on balance, strength, coordination, cardio, just to name a few areas. The orchard park location is great - a solid group of trainers led by Tyler are awesome. I work with Jay and he is super attentive and an hour feels like 15 minutes. Go in and check it out - best part is everyone there is in a similar position so you don’t need to be self conscious of your symptoms.
June 25 · Keith AugustineThe Hamburg Gym and the employees there helped me understand more about Parkinson's, and let me know that although it can't be cured, it can be slowed. They are always there with support and concern for their clients well being, building up their confidence and giving them a positive and fun atmosphere to workout in.
