At the time, I had almost no experience lifting weights on my own. Most of my background was in group bootcamp classes around the city, so stepping into a gym by myself felt intimidating. June 15 · Dan PaffordAs much as I support local stores or gyms, especially this is LGBTQ-owned, I did not feel welcome or inspired to workout. I came in as drop-ins but the workout for the day was part of the "8-week cycle". That should not stop me from there but to have fun and roll with it. Studio was definitely small; there were 5 that attended. I constantly do HIIT and Cross-Fit at various places; I was familiar with how most gyms and coaches layout. For this, I did not get any encouragement or motivation on each workout which was an unusual experience for me. I was hoping to like and continue to attend this studio; maybe this was not meant for me. Coach Todd is a nice person. One thing I liked was the people, they did not seem like social media influencers which I definitely slide in.
