★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Going for my first free trial of Nike Running Studio at Santa Monica and initial impression, IT WAS AWESOME! It's not merely running on treadmill, so worry not on getting bored. They did offer various types of classes, obviously with a mix of running in them. Mine was a combo of legs, back, and biceps; having both treadmill session as well as floor session.During the treadmill session, there's pace range assigned throughout the session so you could follow what your body could actually afford. It's multiple transitions of sprints and cooldowns, ended by the session where you would nail your personal one-mile record. The floor session was similarly fun. Different movements instructed in the beginning, which you could repeat as much as you could at your own speed. It did utilize some equipment and involved some weight lifting. It's overall an amazing workout session and I doubtlessly sweated like crazy. Such an effective hour of calorie-burning!
August 11 · Jessica GabrielaI got a free class from a promotional offer and was excited to try this concept - anything that gets me to do cardio is a win for me :)It instantly reminded me of Barry’s, with two sections of the floor, a treadmill and weights section. There was a more upmarket vibe than Barry’s, and the floor section had weights, bands, and kettlebells right at your station (unlike Barry’s). There was also a noticeable difference in the treadmills. Barry’s uses Woodway treadmills, which are great, but these make it feel like you’re running on a cloud. Very impressive. The focus on the treadmill portion was more distance/endurance than sprints (another difference from Barry’s), and I enjoyed the race to the finish - with bursting bubbles on the giant screen in front of us. A couple of suggestions: add showers, so “going home” isn’t a required step after a workout, and provide towels - this class is more than the local Barry’s ($35 vs. $34), so I’d expect similar amenities.
November 18 · Fouad AlkisswaniGreat atmosphere and amazing coach! The workouts are well-structured, motivating, and suitable for all levels. I’ve seen real improvement in my endurance and form. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get stronger and stay consistent with running!
July 21 · Russell Y. NasirifarJust DON'T. I'll start off with the easiest reason - they don't let you cancel anywhere except for emailing, and hoping someone responds - even then they will try to strong arm you into keeping your membership.Reason number 2 as to "just don't" - the idiotic policies and rude staff. There is a 5 minute policy - if you show up 6 mins late (bc let's be honest, life happens sometimes) you will get locked out of the lobby, and charged $15 - which they will not refund even if you're there and the class is nearly empty. God forbid they show someone trying to improve their fitness any grace. Despite all of this - even if you accept the $15 charge, and see there are only 5 people in the 6am class - they still won't let you join even the back of the class.Celina, their trainer was extremely rude about this (at least the front desk associates were kind). Thank you for ruining my morning, and leading me here.My message to management: you're running a struggling fitness studio, that can't fill a full class - not an NFL team. Put in policies that work for your members when they're having a rough day, that don't make their day even worse. If you were kind, and instructed your staff to be kind as well, I'd still be a member today instead of writing the truth about this place so others don't find themselves in the position I'm in.Lastly - I've frequented 100s of studio classes from all the major brands over the years SoulCycle, Barrys, pilates brands, F45 - I have never had these experiences anywhere else.
July 30 · Hollie HGreat class! It reminded me a lot of Barry’s—very similar in structure but also different in key ways. The biggest difference for me was the running style. Here, I found myself focusing more on endurance, running at 0% incline while gradually increasing my speed. In Barry’s, I usually adjust both speed and incline, sometimes going up to 8-10%.Another key difference is the structure of the workout. Here, you spend half the class on the treadmill and half on the floor, whereas in Barry’s, you switch back and forth twice. One thing I really appreciated was the instructor correcting my form. Honestly, when I first started taking group classes, I used to dislike it, but now I really, really appreciate when an instructor helps me improve. It makes a big difference, and it’s also great when they correct others—it keeps the focus on proper form without making anyone feel singled out.The workout was definitely a challenge—in the best way! At one point, I thought I was going to have a heart attack (in a good way). The strength portion was also fantastic, very much in line with Barry’s.I really enjoyed the class and the instructor. Really wish they were on ClassPass!David was great too! Made me feel extremely comfortable.
