April 11 · Tom CollinsWhen I started a year ago with Renee, I had not worked out in 7 years. Even then, my workouts were not organized and I often pushed myself past where I should be because I had no true awareness of how much weight is right for the type of exercises I was doing. I had twigs for arms and my body was always shakey trying to stabilize my own weight during body weight exercises or holding anything over 10 lbs. I can now confidently support patients at my job without them feeling the shaking in my arms and feeling uncomfortable or unconfident in my ability to support their weight. I can see the outline of my muscles and feel the density and stability I've never had before, and my patients never notice shaking. Best part is that they have all educated me enough that I am able to work out consistently 3-4 times a week developing my own programs and continuing to improve on my own. Trust that they know how to assess your current capabilities and are always altering as your results change each week (up AND down). You may feel frustrated a couple months in, but listen to their experience, trust their guidance, and ASK questions (change takes time!!! And muscles are not a part of the "fast pace result" world we live in. ) The more you learn, the more you will understand and be confident in your ability to know if you are activating the right muscles without recruiting others to produce bad form producing slower results and hurting yourself due to slow recovery times. September 25 · TheresaGet into any level of fitness. From really basic to hard core. This is the place. I was coming back from two complete knee replacement surgeries. I had done my PT but still wasn't where I wanted to be. I checked out Next Step Fitness and am glad that I signed up and got active again. I have much better flexibility in both knees.
