What is worth choosing
New England Movement Arts is an excellent choice for anyone in the Massachusetts area who is looking for a fitness experience that is both physically and mentally rewarding. The most compelling reason to choose this center is its unique focus on movement arts and its commitment to serious, professional instruction. Unlike a standard gym, NEMA offers a path to fitness through joy and passion, whether it's through the grace of ballet or the energy of gymnastics. The reviews from real customers speak volumes about the quality of instruction. As one adult student shared, the teachers are "VERY professional" and make the classes "really fun," even after a long hiatus. For parents, the studio's ability to not only teach but also inspire is a significant factor. A parent's testimony highlights how their son's "gymnastics birthday" was a huge success, making it clear that NEMA is a great place for kids to celebrate and learn. The transformative impact on a student's skills is a key differentiator. One dancer's experience of improving "in two months" at NEMA what took "two years" at another studio is a powerful testament to the quality of instruction and the supportive atmosphere. The focus on providing corrections and pushing students to do their best is what allows for this rapid and significant improvement. Beyond the physical benefits, the studio fosters a welcoming and friendly community where people feel "super nice and friendly" and "really close," creating an environment where health is pursued not just individually, but as a community. The combination of professional instruction, a wide range of classes for all ages, and a genuinely supportive atmosphere makes New England Movement Arts a truly exceptional choice for anyone in Massachusetts seeking a fun, effective, and inspiring fitness journey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took several open-ballet classes after many years I haven't been dancing and it is really fun. The teacher is VERY professional. After I was so impressed from the place and staff I brought my 5 years old son and his friend to celebrate there his birthday- a "gymnastics birthday". My son was very happy and so did all the others!!Great place!
March 06 · Noa HenigI danced for a while at another studio and although I liked it, they weren’t very serious about improving and never pushed me to get better. I would start to feel tired at around the end of class. They didn’t even teach pointe. There was a negative atmosphere there, so bad I quit. Switching to NEMA was the best decision ever! My improvement here in two months is equal to the amount I improved at my old studio in two years. The teachers are amazing, always giving corrections, pushing us to do our best. By the second combination, I feel hot. I look forward to class every day, and love it so much! Everyone is super nice and friendly, and overall, people are really close. There’s something about dancing that sparks joy—the music playing, moving your body with grace, beauty, emotion—that brings so many together, that changes lives.
May 17 · Grace YangI have attended Ann Munchmeyer's Zumba classes at NEMA for 4 years. The classes are fun, each song has a different dance routine, and the mix of different genres is great. Try a class. You'll love it.
December 06 · Christine JohnsonI love NEMA! I was looking for a place to shake up my fitness routine. I tried Ballet and Aerial Yoga for the first time and it was a blast. I love Aerial Yoga. It is the most relaxing class, and I feel great after! It's basically stretching in the air... awesome! I now take Zumba with Penny every Tuesday and Thursday night. You dance in a high-energy environment in the dark. Super cool! NEMA is definitely my new place!
February 20 · Crystal BrandlI wish I could break this review into two parts: classes/teaching and facilities.Sensei Nathan for karate and Lawyer Times for chess are phenomenal teachers and human beings. They and their classes are 5 stars. We've had one son in karate for about 5 or 6 years and I cannot imagine a better teacher for young kids - perpetually full of energy, amazing skill, positive and constructive teaching, and motivation. Chess started here about a year ago and both my boys love it as well as Lawyer's tireless dedication to preaching the wonders of chess to the masses (I love it as well). For the facilities, I'd give 0 stars if I could because of the parking lot. It is SHAMEFULLY bad and an embarrassment for NEMA. Someone amateurishly painted faint lines two different times - one slanted and one perpendicular - the end result is confusion (with some people parked slanted and some perpendicular) and an erosion of an already tiny parking lot. Additionally, the overflow space is not paved or marked, causing more confusion when folks get blocked in.To the owners: PLEASE invest in making your parking lot equal to NEMA's mission - a truly 6-star treasure trove for children's development.
