August 29 · Lauren Bentley SerinaI wrote a detailed review to provide an honest outlook on my experience, but to help simplify things, I included a list of pros and cons at the bottom:My initial experience with Move Studio Pilates - Palatine Branch was positive - I was able to schedule a complimentary session with minimal difficulty. There was some confusion between the employees as to which date I was meant to come in, but when I arrived, the instructor was able to give me the lesson as planned. When I attempted to purchase the introductory package (3 private lessons with 1 group lesson), communication with the studio became inconsistent, and the scheduling process was a bit arduous. When trying to schedule private lessons, I was told I must do so 1-on-1 with the owner instead of the website, and the instructors' availabilities would be confirmed for dates individually. I provided my availability 1-2 weeks in advance, and also expressed my willingness to schedule lessons outside of the given times.I was a bit disappointed as the responses from the owner/head manager were often delayed and inconsistent. She would reject the dates one at a time over a period of several days, and no alternative dates were given. When I suggested she tell me dates the instructors were available instead, she suggested one date. This offer was rescinded the next day as the instructors were no longer available. Our conversation continued this way for 2 weeks without any resolution. The entire exchange became tiring, and they didn't seem interested in taking any new clients. I thanked the owner for trying to assist me and mentioned I would try other studios. Within one night, she had sent me 3 new dates, all within the week and times I had suggested previously. While I appreciate her attempt to fix things, I worried about how difficult it'd be to schedule future private lessons, especially since the intro package expires within a certain number of days. As such, I have decided to look for another studio. The older reviews were all very positive when I read them, and as such, made it even more disappointing that this all occurred. Conclusion: If searching for group lessons and already experienced with pilates, this studio could work well. If inexperienced or needing private lessons, I would suggest another studio with a more effective scheduling process. This is my individual experience so it may differ for others, but I hope this review can be helpful for other prospective clients!PROS-->Friendly, Sociable Instructors->Positive Complimentary Session->Enjoyable Exercises->Group lessons (seem) easy to schedule using online systemCONS-->Inefficient scheduling process for private lessons->Inconsistent/unreliable communication->Difficult for inexperienced pilates students->negative experience regarding conflict resolution
July 07 · AlleeI take a weekly TRX/Reformer class with Lyndsey and had to post today after another great class! I’m grateful to her for bringing the class to Move as it challenges me in new ways each week.Today, an extra big thank you to Lyndsey for spotting me and giving me the Gondola Pole when she realized my knees needed help on a particular set of TRX exercises. All teachers at Move value our safety which is just another reason why Move and its teachers are truly the best!!!
July 24 · Dee CMind. Body. Spirit. Each work out is different. Each instructor is very well prepared, Pilates educated and unique with their classes. After seven years of using Pilates as my only workout daily, I have found a new studio home. The studio is clean, has amazing equipment and so welcoming. The owner, Emily, treats each client as if they are family and takes great pride in her studio. Best place I have found in the area to take Pilates!
June 23 · Jeanine DuerThe thing that makes Trucore so special is their staff. There is no intimidation if you are a beginner. Classes are small so the instructors can give you one on one time if needed. They kick your butt and make you burn all over while instructing you in a calm, relaxing way. I feel amazing after class and have seen improvements in my work and body in just one month. Its the only workout where I look forward to going at 8:30 in the morning. The spin class is a lot of fun too...
