Badly managed & operated, staff is super lazy & inattentive. Owner is rude. This story gets wild. 1st thing I noticed was a HUGE lack of instruction. They only pay attention to class favorites who are already at a higher level. Kids can't advance without training so inexperienced kids just run around & play or hurt themselves. One mom said they moved her daughter up a class but she was worried from watching the lack of instruction that her daughter would get hurt. This picture is from the BEST day of the 3 days I went there, staff zoning out staring at nothing, as usual. After watching a girl fall and hurt her ankle, then seeing my daughter get ignored & get blisters on her hands because nobody told her there was chalk, I voiced my concerns at the end of class to the front desk. They initially thanked me, said they were aware of this problem and were trying to correct it, so I gave them another shot for a 2nd class but it was just as bad. Just wait the story gets better. I called & canceled my membership after class 2 for the same reasons. They asked for my feedback sensing I was unhappy. I told them. I was about to just never go back and was happy leaving it at that. But no, here's where it gets weird. The owner Lisa confirmed concerns about her staff again & asked if I could repeat my concerns over speaker phone in front of her staff so they could hear. I did. She asked me to return next Saturday & give them 1 more try & while I was there assess her staff & give her a review after the class in private, so they could improve. Why not. So Saturday I check in at the front & explain why I'm there. They said Lisa (the owner) wasn't there & wasn't sure if she was coming. Ok. I ask for a notepad to write down my review so I could be done with it & not have to remember/rehash later & they could give it to Lisa since she mentioned it being private. They give me one. I take notes & notice the staff looking at me, realizing I was taking notes so they actually INSTRUCTED THE STUDENTS lol! For the first time in 3 weeks! Was it that hard? The main coach did keep zoning off though. She likes to stare at walls. About 10 min before class was over, Lisa shows up & pulls me aside, agitated. Says I'm no longer welcome in the gym & was making the staff uncomfortable because I was taking notes. I was so confused! They ASKED me to come back to assess & give a review. I'd already canceled my membership & was gone. I only came because they WANTED me to come assess. Lisa had ATTITUDE. To recap, the conversation went like this: "You came in here w/ a lot of opinions! I guess you know more about gymnastics than I do (sarcastically) but you're making our staff uncomfortable. We didn't know you were going to take NOTES! I'm confident they're doing well WITHOUT your opinion!" I said "I'm sorry, I'm only doing what I thought you were asking me to do." She cut me off w/ "LISTEN to me!" Stormed off in a fit & left me at the front office. For a competitive sport there's no reason they should be uncomfortable. I asked "in a competition don't you get assessed w/ a score?" They said no, a score is not an assessment and it was too dangerous for the staff to be distracted by my NOTE TAKING, lmao. Never mind LACK OF INSTRUCTION being totally unsafe! I said you realize ALL parents already make mental notes when they sit here & watch, don't you? Mine's just on paper. They said they had a Google form posted somewhere for parent complaints. I said if that was what you wanted me to do, why didn't you say so instead of asking me to come? They kept making excuses and trying to pretend I wasn't there anymore. I said ok, I guess I'll post my review to Google instead where everyone can read it. My takeaway is the staff just wants to get away w/ being lazy & not doing their jobs which is why they acted like this. Final note: when parent feedback is dismissed, situations like the USA Gymnastics scandal happen. That is an unhealthy culture to breed at a gym. Do not take your kids here! This was a very weird experience & waste of time! I think they are crazy here. - Mindy Wheeler
