LA Fitness Chicago (Rogers Park): Your Complete Fitness Hub on the North Side
For local residents in Chicago and across the Illinois region, finding a high-value, comprehensive gym can be key to maintaining a consistent fitness routine. The LA Fitness located at 7529 N Clark St in the Rogers Park neighborhood offers a massive facility designed to support every type of workout—from heavy Resistance Training to mindful Yoga Class sessions.
The facility is known for being a full-service gym that transitioned from a previous brand, a change that has introduced several benefits for members. One member noted the financial advantage and overall quality: “The recent transition from East Esporta Fitness to LA Fitness has introduced several changes, particularly in membership fees, which are now considerably lower for members. The facility provides a spacious environment conducive to various workouts, including yoga sessions.” This indicates a strong commitment to delivering exceptional value to the Illinois community.
Beyond the equipment, the gym actively promotes a holistic approach to wellness. The review highlights available support for nutrition and specialized guidance: “Additionally, there is a concession stand that serves healthy smoothies and protein options, promoting a balanced diet for fitness enthusiasts. For individuals seeking personalized guidance, personal training services are available, catering to those who prefer individualized assistance instead of a public workout setting. Furthermore, LA Fitness has implemented notable upgrades throughout the establishment, significantly enhancing the overall experience for its members.”
However, as with any large facility undergoing management shifts, some challenges have been noted, particularly regarding customer service and specific gym policies. One member expressed frustration, stating, “I used to like this gym and the staff was decent, but since the change in management, it’s severely gone downhill.” Specific feedback pointed to front desk experiences and the strict application of guest pass rules: “I also brought a friend that was visiting for a few days and we got the 3 day guest pass and she said because he’s not from Chicago, he’s not allowed to use the guest pass.” This highlights the importance of understanding membership requirements and guest policies before enrollment, even with the gym's convenient location and quality equipment.
The LA Fitness in Rogers Park remains a large, well-equipped, and conveniently located choice for Chicago residents, especially those prioritizing diverse training options and cost-effective membership rates. Its range of equipment and dedication to continuous upgrades make it a central fixture in the local fitness scene.

August 09 · Mrs. McManusI used to like this gym and the staff was decent, but since the change in management, it’s severely gone downhill.Like a previous review said, whoever the lady is with the glasses at the front desk(maybe the new manager) is incredibly rude and off-putting. Whenever my app for sign in isn’t working, I ask if I can use my phone number and she’s insistent I use the app and reset my login when I’ve had to do that like 10 times already because the app sucks too!I also brought a friend that was visiting for a few days and we got the 3 day guest pass and she said because he’s not from Chicago, he’s not allowed to use the guest pass.Terrible management. Please do something because I like this gym for how close it is to where I live!
September 20 · Jeremy BellmanEverything is very clean, big space, but the sauna don't work and I ask at the front desk and they say they can not do noting, so to who I have to ask . Please fix the temperature of your sauna, I mean we pay for that service no?And put atención to the people comments here all they want is better conditions. That's way we pay.
July 07 · Junior URBuilding management closed off the atrium entrance so you have to walk an extra half mile to just get from the Howard station to the gym. I can only assume that they hate homeless people so much that they don't care they're hurting the community by removing what was once a public pass through between the CTA and the strip mall. Elderly folks used to use this pass through on their way through the Howard station. Also, for the love of God please order more weight clips. This location only has enough for the benches and the one squat rack, so if you come in when someone is using a pair for dead lifts you're left scrambling for a pair or just lifting unsecured weights.
June 19 · Brian KayI don't know why they don't do anything about fixing the airconditioning in the Zumba/sauna room. Attendees had been complaining about this for a long time now. As much as we enjoy the class a couple of us had to leave the class before we suffer heat stroke. Please do something about this inhumane condition.
