February 27 · Carlos EastAbsolutely love this gym highly recommended I’ve learn so much and had the appropriate trainer her name is coach Liz very knowledgeable and professional there’s no where I rather train at than Guv’nors Boxing Club ! Loyal to the end
January 09 · Ignacio ArguelloThis gym is everything! Liz runs a tight ship and she has something for everybody. She is knowledgeable in boxing and not only offers boxing training but was a very accomplished fighter herself. One of the coolest things Liz offers is training for people with special needs, particularly those with autism. If you or someone you know is on the spectrum this is a great resource. She offers one on one training for them that helps them develop fine motor skills as well as a huge amount of confidence. Liz makes you feel like family from the minute you walk through that door and I can’t wait to see her every time!!
January 02 · Allana AhoveloAll about the work, no gimmicks, no flare.I dropped in as a visitor for the heavy bag/mitts class, and had the young champ Keanu lead us through combos. The young man is wise beyond his years, and he's willing to teach all of us as we worked the combos. Had a great time doing work, and I even bought my t-shirt to rock back home on the East Coast.
February 28 · RodneyI own a boxing gym in Miami FL, so I've never actually been to Guv'nor's Boxing Club. Yet I do know Liz the owner and I consider her a good friend and a very knowledgeable boxing instructor. Perhaps more important than the knowledge and experience she posses is the continued passion she has for the sport and for teaching. We did however train together at my club back in 2015 and we both held mitts for each other and shared our combinations and perspectives. We both came away with a huge respect for each other as a result of that training experience. Liz and I still stay in contact and support each other not only as coaches but as business owners. If I were on Long Beach or she here in Miami we definitely would be helping each other out more. If you're in the Long Beach Ca. area and are considering a boxing gym, I highly recommend going to train with her. Like I said, I don't know the gym physically, but I do her and she's the 100% truth.
