This is more than just a place to work out; it's a community where individuals can challenge themselves, learn new skills, and feel supported by both their instructors and fellow students.
The atmosphere at Defy Gravity is a key component of its appeal. A customer review highlights the welcoming and encouraging environment, stating that the instructor was "so so kind and encouraging" and that they "really loved the atmosphere from the other students." This sense of camaraderie is what sets the studio apart from many other fitness centers. It's a place where you can feel comfortable, regardless of your fitness level or prior experience. The community is built on mutual respect and encouragement, making every class an enjoyable and empowering experience. The studio's commitment to being a "body positive, Health At Every Size (HAES) space" also means that everyone, regardless of their size, is welcome to defy their limits.
While a positive experience is the norm, it's also worth noting a review that points out some areas for improvement. A first-time visitor noted the studio can be "a bit hard to find" and that the space felt a bit disorganized and less clean than other studios they had visited. The same reviewer also noted that the poles were stationary, which they found to be more difficult. However, the reviewer also acknowledged that this may be standard for beginners and that the positive atmosphere from both the instructor and other students was a significant highlight. This feedback provides a balanced perspective, showing that while some aspects may need attention, the core experience of instruction and community is strong.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I always have a good time at DG, and my pole 1 classes are great! I enjoy the conditioning that we do, and the instructors are wonderful at answering my questions and helping me figure out difficult moves.
May 02 · Celeste PayneA bit hard to find if you’re new to the area. Im not sure if this is a new establishment or not, but it feels very much like it is. I walked into a small entrance where there was coat hooks and a folding partition separating that space from the pole room. I attended a Pole Fundamentals class. The instructor was so so kind and encouraging. I also really loved the atmosphere from the other students. I did not like that we were told we could wash our hands in the kitchen and then find the kitchen to be very disorganized and messy. The poles were also stationary, which made every move more painful than necessary. However, please keep in mind that I’m a beginner and it may be customary to start with stationary poles. I have attended other studios that just felt cleaner and more organized.
June 20 · RavenGained a second fam when I started coming to class here. They’ve got a bit of everything (yoga, strength/flexibility, aerial, pole, burlesque, etc) on their schedule, and I promise you won’t regret showing up and moving your body with these people!
August 21 · Macy WilderI tried my first pole class here since it was only $10, and the whole experience was amazing! Rose Quartz is such a kind instructor and made me feel comfortable the entire session. I’ll totally return back here when I can!
December 24 · Lauren DAlways a fantastic time. Supportive, fun environment, and modifications as needed for all body types and abilities. I’ve been going to this studio for 5 years now, and I always, ALWAYS leave feeling better than I came.
