★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My daughter attends the Lowell YMCA Summer day camp, and has talked about going to this location once or twice a week to swim with her group. It just so happened, that our local high school pool where we typically swim on Saturdays was closed today. She suggested we make the drive to GR and try this place, and ohhhh my goodness! What an experience! The pools were the PERFECT temperature, the hot tub was relaxing when I snuck over for a quick dip (and I could peek over the side to keep an eye on her while she played with some other kids). It was just amazing. We will definitely be getting a membership and make this our new place to go hang and work out. The staff were all amazing. The lifeguards were friendly and professional, the front desk staff have a way about them that makes you feel like they are HAPPY to have you there... and for those of you who have taken your kiddos places that are "kid friendly" or even places that are MADE for children, this is not always the case with staff at those places, so it was very refreshing. Thanks for a great day guys! I wish I could give 10 stars! ❤️
August 02 · Madeline RingThe gym is becoming better and better. The number and assortment of machines and free weights is fantastic, the layout makes sense, and the availability of multiple pools, basketball courts, sauna, steam room, and hot tub, are hard to find in other gyms. Machines are regularly maintained and updated, with the latest and greatest, as well as regular replacing of pads and linings. While some work remains ongoing, it will only result in an even better product. Parking has changed and while there is another two or three minutes added to getting in and out, the new garage is incredibly easy to navigate, and parking is abundant. No more driving around and hoping that a spot opens up while you are in the lot.
September 16 · Eron CayeditoThe Y made awesome, much needed updates to their facilities to greatly increase member experience. I can look past their poor weekend hours and I can look past their months long renovations on their locker room. But I cannot look past the horrible decision to give up the parking lot for the stadium development. Why did the YMCA agree to this BEFORE having their proposed over the road bridge made? Having to park across the street (two crosswalks) with an active railroad is a completely different experience than what guests pay a lot of money for. I'm typing this as I've sat for over 10 minutes JUST TO LEAVE the parking structure as a train continues to pass through. This is gonna get horrible during the winter. The whole marketing campaign to "sign up to park in the parking structure for free!" was a slap in the face for long time members like myself. "Sign up for a worse experience, but hey it's free!"All the goodwill created from the amazing renovations have been tanked in my mind.
September 08 · Ravi PatelWe joined the YMCA just after the pandemic in an effort to help my daughter (who is autistic) to become a better swimmer. After going to many swim schools and trainers previously, we were nervous to engage but then met Ms. Indya at the GR YMCA. She absolutely did what no other instructor was able to do, which was teach my daughter to simply love swimming. She was incredibly patient and kind. When my daughter was terrified to put her face in the water, she didn't push it but eventually bought her a snorkel mask which she took to immediately. She now dives under water on her own and truly loves swimming. I can't thank her and the YMCA enough for their work, kindness and patience. Truly a special place for my family.
September 09 · Sean LemonI love the Y because they have all the equipment I could possibly want to achieve my fitness goals. The indoor track, the group fitness classes, the pool, and the amazing staff all make it a great place to work out. As a trans guy, I also really appreciate the gender neutral locker rooms.
