Introduction / Overview
Located in the Sauganash neighborhood of Chicago, CorePower Yoga is a popular destination for those seeking a dynamic and fitness-focused approach to their wellness journey. Far from a traditional, meditative yoga studio, CorePower combines the mindfulness of yoga with a physically intense, high-energy workout. The studio is known for its signature heated classes that are designed to build strength, increase flexibility, and boost metabolism. The atmosphere is often described as high-energy and welcoming, with an emphasis on creating a space where individuals can get a great workout while also connecting with their breath. CorePower Yoga - Sauganash operates as a modern fitness center, providing a variety of class formats that appeal to a wide range of fitness levels and goals. This location, like others in the CorePower network, focuses on a consistent class structure that allows members to know what to expect, while still providing the unique flair of individual instructors. While some traditionalists may view the studio's style as more "yoga-inspired fitness" than classical yoga, it has successfully created a large community of dedicated practitioners who are drawn to its invigorating and results-driven classes. It's a place where you can sweat, get strong, and leave feeling energized and accomplished. The studio is particularly popular among those who want to integrate the physical benefits of a gym or training center with the mental and emotional benefits of a yoga practice. This blend of disciplines is what sets it apart in the local fitness landscape and makes it a compelling option for Chicago residents looking to shake up their routine.

Cynthia is hands down the best instructor—her energy, guidance, and those thoughtful little touches like candles during class and citrus-infused towels at the end make every session feel like a mini retreat. Highly recommend
July 10 · Dana CeclanI wish I could say I loved it, but the young girl mopping when I got there at 8:19 only sneered when I knocked so, if anyone has any jujitsu or other inclusive studios lmk, as I wasn’t allowed into the studio when I arrived for my first ever class, and am obviously canceling the ELEVEN I signed up for- thank god I didn’t sign a contract moment, the free trial let me know it’s not for me since I can’t even enter the building.I signed up because I’ve done yoga for ages, am 29, used to do acro yoga at Malcolm X Park in dc at 18-21, and now work out and do it on my own because it’s how I got off the cane I was using bc of DV and seizures related to DV, after almost a year off it.I didn’t think I could feel lower than when I sobbed in the shower abt Gaza, my people in Baltimore, my family in Texas and Mexican fam all over, and because a man asked my size and I have body dysmorphia and lost over 120 pounds in six months because of DV, NOT OZ. Today I mean. That little size comment was today, so I woke up at 740PM, having missed my alarms, BEGGED a fellow starving artist friend to loan me money to Lyft there on time- guess if it’s 819 ur too late, esp if u didn’t draw eyebrows or wear a wig :/I was looking forward to only this since Saturday, lol. I was like just make it to yoga your endo pain will lessen your hips will feel better- I have hip dysplasia, they’re cockeyed like a botched boob job #alixearleBut your little mop girl assuming I couldn’t possibly be a yoga student dug the knife in, and me a little lower. Have the day you deserve.P.S. all of my clothes were brand new, I was in dope cargo pants from H&M, v clean classic black lace up vans, and a Janel monae shirt I altered myself bc I am an artist lol.I had to walk home over an hour because my phone was dead, silly me thinking I could charge it in the studio bc idk they would let me attend the class I booked.-LC.P.S.- very glad I didn’t sign up for those teaching classes either now, was going to do the 500 credit one lol.P.S. I understand the door gets locked, however the sneer and disdain was unnecessary, she could have simply seen I was new and confused, and explained. Not a great first impression.
August 26 · I Like Crab RangoonsThis is the best cpy in Chicago. Studio super clean and teachers are super nice. Lots of class on schedule. It is almost impossible for me to go to class in person due to my schedule but this location makes it possible. So 5 stars for management.I just wish I actually like the class more. They feel more like exercise classes with yoga poses thrown in rather than a instructor-found yoga studio where you feel like you are on a path. I definitely don't get any amazing transformative feelings when I leave here. More like, it's better than no yoga?, but I really wish classes were better quality. Many times the flow sequence just... don't flow. Teachers feel like they completed 200 yt but lack depth and ability to tailor poses to student specifics. Classes don't talk about breath work. Their core strength workout, which is more an exercise class, is pretty decent. Unfortunately this area is short on yoga studios, so this is what one gets here. But hey, better than nothing? Update: studio manager is super nice and responsive when I had in inquiry.
July 26 · Amy JDarby’s yoga sculpt was so good I got a membership right after class. Great sweat, love the location, everyone was so nice and it’s very clean!
August 13 · Adeeba KhanA whoopping shout-out to CPY-Sauganash. By far this is one of the best CorePower Yoga studios in the north side of Chicago. Teachers are incredible welcoming, professional and super helpful while you're learning. It's clean and the studios are very spacious. For those who are not familiar with the temperature of their classes, I would recommend reading the descriptions of each class. CPY has a plethora of classes to accommodate most. Sometimes the classes could become a bit tight if folks set their mats down taking up a quarter of the room leaving limited space for others.
