Dynamic Workouts: The core offering is the boot camp program, featuring a variety of high-intensity, 45-minute workouts that change daily. This ensures that you never do the same workout twice, keeping your body guessing and preventing plateaus. The workouts are designed to be modified to suit all fitness levels.
Personal Training in a Group Setting: All camps are led by a certified personal trainer who provides one-on-one attention and guidance within the group environment. They focus on proper form, offer modifications, and push members to achieve their full potential.
Nutrition Consulting: Members have access to expert nutrition consulting, which is a key component of the wellness program. Trainers conduct "Focus Meetings" to discuss individual needs and goals, providing accountability and guidance on developing a healthy eating plan to complement their workouts.
Complimentary Child Care: A major highlight of the service is the onsite child care, which is included with a membership. This amenity is designed to make it easier for parents to prioritize their health and fitness without having to worry about finding and paying for separate care for their children. It allows parents to focus completely on their workout.
Several key features and highlights distinguish Burn Boot Camp from other fitness centers in the Virginia region. The gym's unique model and strong focus on community create a supportive and effective environment for its members.
Empowering Community and Staff: Reviews consistently praise the trainers and staff for their kindness, knowledge, and ability to empower members. As one member shared, the trainers "truly take the time to get to know you and your health." The staff, including specific trainers like Heather and team members like Kelsie and Hannah, are recognized as "gems" who are caring and supportive.
Accountability and Consistency: The structured, trainer-led camps and one-on-one Focus Meetings provide a high level of accountability that helps members stay consistent. Onsite Child Care: The availability of complimentary child care is a significant feature that addresses a major barrier for many parents seeking to prioritize their fitness. This amenity makes it feasible for parents, particularly mothers, to dedicate time to themselves. As one review noted, it is a crucial part of the membership that makes it "worth it."
Floating Floor: The gym's use of a "floating floor" acts as a shock absorber, protecting joints and helping to prevent injuries during intense workouts. This specialized equipment demonstrates a commitment to member safety and long-term well-being, which is a notable highlight for many people.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been going to Burn North Suffolk since December and I can confidently say it has been for the best! It has provided accountability and consistency, two things that I have always struggled in the past. The trainers and staff truly take the time to get to know you and your health. Focus meetings to discuss your needs/goals, ability for 1:1 training in a group setting.
March 26 · Gabby RoweUpdated review, August 2025:I have been a Burn member for almost 3 years. Burn quickly became my safe place and a place my children loved to be. It was an integral part of my daily life- I loved going to the gym and being with this community and I even previously reviewed them very highly. At the beginning of this year, I had every intention of completing over 250 camps in 2025. 2 months ago, I wouldn’t have even questioned renewing my contract.Unfortunately, due to some safety concerns for my children, I was unable to renew my contract, and I said goodbye to Burn Bootcamp North Suffolk. There is a child in childwatch at the same time that we attend every day who has had 9 violent or aggressive outbursts in under 6 months (throwing chairs/toys, hitting, pushing, etc)- one said incident included my 22-month-old. When the incident occurred with my child, I set out to make a change and hold Burn and the other parent accountable. My concerns for the safety of my children were minimized to “member drama” and it seemed the owners at Burn hoped that I would eventually get over it. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for my kids, my children’s safety is my number one priority, and not something that I take lightly or will “get over.” I immediately removed my children from that situation, opting for different camp times over the summer in hopes that Burn would take the proper course of action for this child and their parent. Burn did implement a “Behavior Action Plan” for this child which allows them 4 more incidents within a 60 day period before they are removed, however their childwatch packet indicates that if a child has 4 offenses they would be terminated from the childwatch program. As mentioned previously, between the end of April to mid August 2025, this child has had 9 documented offenses, but is still able to attend childwatch every day, sometimes twice a day. Burn also mentions in their childwatch packet that they have a ratio of 1 adult to 8 kids, which is false. They regularly have 2 employees in childwatch with openings for 20-24 kids, which the owners frequently increase which creates an unsafe environment for the kids and staff members alike.Due to my work schedule and school starting soon, my original camp time was the only time that worked for me, which I was no longer able to attend due to concerns about the safety of my children. I expressed that this situation would be the cause for me to not renew my contract to multiple employees, including management. Yet every day when I attended camp, another employee would ask simply if I was renewing my contract and offer no resolution for the issues at hand. If the management team had any intention of providing me with some sort of solution here, their failure was not communicating that information to me. I made it clear to them that I was exploring other gym options, and they made no attempt to reach out to try and reconcile.Overall, I value my time with Burn North Suffolk. I gained discipline for working out which I never thought I would have, I made so many friends and so did my kids. But in the end, the egregious mismanagement of this situation is what caused them to lose a member.Heather is one of the best trainers in Hampton Roads, especially for moms and women. I hope they realize what a gem they have in her. Kelsie and Hannah in childwatch have been some of my favorite people to interact with and I will miss seeing them every day. Brittany and Kat are the most caring people and I will always appreciate their support. I hope my review is taken seriously and not reduced to “disgruntled member drama.” This should be a learning opportunity for Burn Bootcamp North Suffolk, as children’s safety is NOT something that should be taken lightly.
August 13 · Kayla ReddickI thought the workouts were only for the ladies but I was mistaken. I have been a male competitive athlete my whole life and these are some of the toughest workouts I have ever done in my 63 years. Great coaches and a great environment. Men, get off your butts and give it a try…no regrets!
July 24 · Mark MarigliaI can't say enough great things about Burn Boot Camp! From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed and supported. The trainers truly care about your goals and push you to be your best—physically and mentally. The community here is something special. I've made friendships, hit personal milestones, and even found healing in my mental health journey thanks to the environment they've created. Every workout is challenging but so rewarding, and there's always something new to keep you motivated. Whether you're just starting out or looking to level up, Burn is the place to be. So grateful to be part of this amazing community!
March 25 · Stephanie RBurn boot camp is such an amazing place, the workouts are always so great. Burn North Suffolk is something special all on its own. The owners, staff and community are top notch!! Child watch staff is the best also. I’ve went to many gyms and this place is so much more. The luxury of going daily and never having the think of a plan for my workout is the best! My 4 year old and I both look forward to go to burn daily!! Oh and let’s not forget the one on one focus meetings you get to work on anything from nutrition, stretching or extra help with truly anything. There is truly not enough good things I could say about this place!!
