Barry's Hollywood Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the heart of the entertainment capital,
Barry's Hollywood
has long stood as an iconic destination for residents of Los Angeles seeking a truly high-intensity, results-driven workout. Part of a globally recognized fitness brand, this facility offers more than just a gym experience; it delivers a signature program often branded asThe Best Workout in the World™
. The core experience takes place in the famed 'Red Room,' a dimly lit, high-energy studio where a curated blend of lighting, loud music, and expert instruction creates an immersive environment designed to push you to your limits. The methodology at
Barry's Hollywood
centers on High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), uniquely combining approximately 50% cardio on state-of-the-art treadmills with 50% strength training on the floor using a variety of equipment. This strategic combination is designed to maximize calorie burn—often up to 1,000 calories per session—and boost metabolism for hours after the workout is complete. The class structure operates on a daily muscle focus schedule, ensuring a balanced, full-body approach that allows muscle groups proper recovery time while minimizing the risk of overtraining. It is important for local users to note a significant change:
Barry's Hollywood
is scheduled to permanently close its doors on September 26, 2025. While this chapter of the studio is concluding, the Barry's community and the unique fitness experience will continue at various thriving locations across Southern California, including nearby Studio City, West Hollywood (WeHo), and Pasadena. This brief window provides an opportunity for Los Angeles fitness enthusiasts to experience the legendary Hollywood location one last time, or to use the remaining time to transition smoothly to another SoCal Red Room.Location and Accessibility

August 16 · Tommy WoelfelAfter years of seeing people post about Barry's (since 2012 or so), I've finished this year in Pasadena, then visited Hollywood and Studio City. Matt W is awesome. He was my first instructor. I've only had one other, Daniel P. Eventually will check out more. But Barry's Hollywood is set to permanently close September 26, 2025. You can read about it on a post on Reddit, but several employees have told me it's the closing date, and if you check Barry's App, no classes are available September 27, 2025 onward. I'll visit one last time before the closure. The parking was always easy. And yeah, the Red Room is never full. The most I've had was 20+ people and the least was around 8 or so. At least I can go to the other locations.
September 24 · Wayne BuiI would love to give more stars if I could. Customer service is fantastic! The environment, the workout, the playlist, the shakes, the cleanliness and the clothes are all fabulous and everything you would want and desire for your workout. Whether you’re visiting, local or just wanting to get a good burn in this is a must see. I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and giving me the best part of my Christmas vacation!
December 28 · Megan Marie RandallHad a great time tonight! Take a class with Jon :) Great energy and kept us motivated. He’s enthusiastic and passionate about working out which made it fun. I’m definitely sore, but it was worth it!
November 11 · Eren HoldenAlways love coming to Emile's class! He's energized, affirming and loves what he does. I can feel his energy not just through his words and actions but also his playlist! WOW! I have a lot of injuries and chronic pain and sometimes interval / weight lifting / circuit classes intimidate me. Not with Emile. In his class I feel accepted, there are different variations for each exercise and he really is just proud of everyone in class for showing up, listening to their body and doing what they feel comfortable doing. No pressure, just motivation to do your best, whatever that may look like for each individual. He's incredible!
