Whether you are dealing with post-injury recovery, chronic tension headaches, general aches from an active Oregon lifestyle, or simply aiming to build a more resilient core, the services here are designed to address the root causes of physical imbalance.
Testimonials from local users emphasize the high level of personal care, particularly highlighting the efficacy of therapeutic massage in treating long-standing issues like chronic migraines and tension. They also point to the benefits of complementary services, such as referrals to gentle and patient-focused chiropractic care, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to comprehensive patient well-being over volume-based training. This focus on rehabilitation, pain management, and mindful movement makes Balance Massage + Core Fitness Studio an invaluable asset to the health-conscious community of Hillsboro.

Specialized Services Offered
Balance Massage + Core Fitness Studio is highly specialized, offering focused services that treat the body holistically—addressing both muscle strength and recovery. The primary offerings are:
- Therapeutic and Custom Massage: Services are centered around Licensed Massage Therapy (LMT), with a clear focus on deep, customized bodywork. This is essential for chronic pain, tension headaches, and specific muscle knots. While standard oil rub-downs may be available, the core strength lies in detailed therapeutic techniques designed to work on pressure points and tense areas.
- Pilates Studio Core Conditioning: As a dedicated Pilates studio, classes likely focus on Mat Pilates and Core Conditioning. These small group sessions or private lessons emphasize strengthening the pelvic floor, improving posture, and enhancing overall core stability, balance, and flexibility.
- Core and Full Body Conditioning Classes: Beyond Pilates, the studio may offer additional small-group training focused on functional movements, strength training, and full-body fitness, often guided by instructors with backgrounds in fields like Kinesiology or Physiotherapy.
- Wellness Consultations and Planning: The studio prioritizes a guided approach, indicated by the 'Appointments recommended' note. This suggests a personalized intake process to match clients with the correct therapeutic or fitness service for their specific needs.
- Complementary Pain Management Services: The studio operates within a network of care, evidenced by patient reviews mentioning successful collaboration with professionals like a chiropractor, focusing on gentle, targeted manipulation and patient-focused recovery for issues like hip pain.
Features and Highlights of the Studio
The standout features of Balance Massage + Core Fitness Studio are rooted in its dedication to patient-centric care, highly specialized instruction, and comprehensive approach to physical wellness.
- Integrated Wellness Model: The combination of targeted Core Fitness (Pilates) and hands-on Therapeutic Massage creates a seamless path to recovery and strength, often more effective than pursuing fitness and bodywork separately. This addresses the common need for both strengthening and pain relief.
- Focus on Chronic Pain Relief: The studio has a verifiable track record, cited in reviews, of successfully treating long-term issues like chronic migraines and severe tension headaches, suggesting the LMTs are highly skilled in deeper, functional bodywork beyond mere relaxation.
- Professional and Gentle Chiropractic Integration: The willingness to integrate chiropractic care, described as gentle, focused, and not overly aggressive, showcases a professional environment that genuinely prioritizes patient recovery over repeat business.
- High Standards of Care: The planning requirement—Appointments recommended—indicates a dedication to ensuring each client receives attentive, scheduled care, avoiding the rushed feeling often associated with drop-in facilities.
- Financial Convenience: The acceptance of Credit cards and Debit cards for payment simplifies the process of investing in regular wellness and therapeutic services.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have had many massages usually leave feeling really relaxed but this one just left me feeling the same as when I went in.the people were very nice but what I received wasn’t a massage but an oil rub down. In the past massage’s they have worked on my pressure points and massaged my tense areas like my neck, I had let her know about some of my areas that had been hurting and tense but they didn’t receive anything except a little rub down. I could have received what I did from my caregiver.
August 23 · Patty grahamI started coming to Balance Massage almost a year ago to see LMT Tessa. When I first began my therapy, I was coming once a week and after about a month, I have gone in bi-weekly. Tessa has been a blessing to me! I have suffered from chronic migraines and tension headaches for almost 18 years and have had brain scans (I had some traumatic head injuries from a car accident) and been given medications but nothing seemed to work, and massage from Tessa has been the only thing to help. I was going through bottles of ibuprofen each month and have been off of that for the most part for almost a year now. She really focuses on the areas that are causing my headaches and helps to train my muscles to relieve the pain. I never thought I would be headache free! I have even gone as long as 3-4 weeks without seeing her and still have had minimal pain.A few weeks ago, I made my first chiropractic appointment at Balance as well, with Dr. Pat because of some hip pain from a long flight that I wasn't able to get rid of with Tessa's help. I was apprehensive to see a chiropractor as my only other experience was not the best. Dr. Pat was wonderful! He did not just crack my entire body, he really focused on the areas that were bothering me and fine manipulation and being very gentle. I made several follow up appointments with him, but I felt 100 times better after that first visit. He is not worried about getting people in for more visits or money, but more focused on the care for the patient.I would highly recommend both massage and chiropractic services at Balance!
April 05 · Ashley ButlerI have been receiving massage therapy at Balance Massage since I had a very bad car accident in 2017. I was in so much pain all over my body, but especially in my chest and neck. I was not certain massage therapy was the answer, but I was willing to try anything except take pain medication or muscle relaxers, which is what an MD would have done for me. I saw all of the massage therapists at least once during this time, but I saw Lisa the most. Amazingly, little by little, I started feeling better It took time, because my injuries were bad. Lisa was amazing. She helped me learn about what was going on with my body and what she could feel in my muscles and fascia. She can really help with any kind of pain with her deep tissue massages. I continue to frequent Balance Massage Studio, because I am very active/athletic doing some extreme sports and Lisa and other massage therapist fix my pain every time I hurt myself! Love this place so much! I cannot even begin to recommend it enough!
January 26 · Jasmine Cuddigan-PlacitoI've been here several times over the past few years, averaging about 12 visits per year. The staff are very friendly and the massage experience is very relaxing. I've seen three different massage therapists here and each has been wonderful. I highly recommend. I've also attended a few of the Pilates classes and they were nice as well.
April 17 · Whowans TonoI’ve been going to Balance Massage for several years and have always received great care. I’ve seen several of the therapists and they are always knowledgeable and professional. The owners are dedicated to their patience and staff. I highly recommend Balance massage therapy for both injury and relaxation care.
