December 24 · __I started Pilates not really knowing what to expect, but I’d heard great things about the results—and they’re true! You’ll feel taller, leaner, and stronger with each session. Angela puts you to work, and the results show! She’s amazing and knows just how to push you to reach your full potential. The environment is warm and friendly so expect to be treated like family.
November 13 · C.R. SnyderWhen I first moved to the area, I was thrilled to learn that there was a Pilates studio right on Liberty Street. I had done Pilates years before and knew what an amazing workout it could be. Unfortunately, life took it's twists and turns and between age, injury, and a sedentary lifestyle, I gained some unwanted weight, and more disturbingly, felt completely weak and out of my body. As a former gymnast, I couldn't even do a cartwheel.Angela put me at ease right away with her gentle therapeutic approach. I found a safe place, free of judgment, where rebuilding my physical strength and love of self, was supported every step of the way, with a staff that took a wellness partnership approach, a clean welcoming studio that had all of he equipment I needed, and a community of other practitioners who cheered each other on.Clients here are treated like family and not only will the teacher go out of her way to create a plan tailored to your individual needs, but she consistently checks in and works around any physical limitations you may be experiencing, while conversely working with you to strengthen supportive muscles to those trouble areas.I am so grateful that I found Angela and APG Pilates. I have ventured out to try other exercise modalities (yoga, running, free weights, white cloud, and aerial work) and none of them have the comprehensive effect on my body that Pilates does. After working with Angela just 2-3 times a week, I experienced a huge transformation. I was fit and strong, looked better than I had in 20 years, and had confidence that my body would not hold me back from living the life I want. For the first time I have a sustainable exercise, that I still look forward to doing. The way, APG teaches Pilates, there are always new challenges and fun things to learn.
August 13 · Bridget HayesI am moving more easily and energetically through the world after working with Angela. After just a few weeks of her Saturday mat class in Downing Park I was noticing a difference in my posture and increased recovery time from other workouts. However, it was working with Angela in the studio that has made a remarkable difference in my body. I am in less pain, I am standing stronger and taller, I have more energy, and I haven’t rolled my (previously chronically loose) ankles in weeks! As a runner, I have noticed my speed and endurance have naturally increased after Pilates at AGP 2x a week. It’s hard to grasp some of the movements at first, so I recommend staying with it for a few sessions (there’s a great intro package) and feeling the difference in your body before deciding if Pilates is for you. It is not overstating it to say that working out with AGP twice a week has improved my life in every area.
December 11 · Hannah Gray Miller (HGM)In 2014 I broke both ankle bones in my left leg. It took almost a year before I could walk. I developed an exaggerated and painful limp. Shortly thereafter I met Angela at her Grand Opening on Liberty Street and began Pilates. Angela crafted exercises to realign my hips, strengthen my leg muscles and abs. My limp slowly was healed and now I can walk normally. I continue to attend class and improve my overall health and fitness. Angela is very knowledgeable and customizes exercises to fit what is needed. She is also a very pleasant woman and easy to get along with.
