Yoga studio ★4.0

11 W State St, Pasadena, CA 91105, USA

4.0
Yoga House in Pasadena is a rare find. After ten years living here, I only discovered it just before moving to France, and I’m so grateful I did. Unlike the many corporate studios popping up everywhere, Yoga House has a genuine, old-school spirit with a range of experienced teachers. When you see Iyengar classes on the schedule, it’s often a good sign, and with legends like Paul Cabanis, the quality is undeniable. What truly defines Yoga House is its welcoming atmosphere. As a yoga teacher, I know many people hesitate to step into a studio, fearing judgment or discomfort. Here, it’s the opposite. I also admire their dedication to the community, offering free classes for women recovering from cancer. It’s rare to see words followed by actions, and that commitment is deeply inspiring. If you’re new and want a gentle introduction, start with Peggy or Susan. For those wanting to refine alignment and explore depth, Paul’s classes are exceptional. I also tried Benjamin’s class — he’s a young teacher with remarkable talent. Dela is wonderful too. On top of their regular schedule, they host workshops with outstanding teachers from other studios, expanding the learning experience.Thank you to Yoga House for giving me the opportunity to practice during my last month in Pasadena. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a place to begin with a solid foundation and grow with confidence. - Sophie Marie L

What is Worth Choosing

For California residents, particularly those in the Pasadena and greater Los Angeles region, choosing Yoga House is a choice for authenticity, high-quality instruction, and profound community engagement. This studio provides a compelling alternative to large, impersonal fitness centers.

The primary reason it is worth choosing is the Undeniable Quality of the Teaching Staff. When customers refer to teachers as 'legends' or as being 'exceptional' and 'remarkable,' it speaks to a caliber of instruction that is increasingly difficult to find. The Iyengar lineage in particular ensures that students receive detailed, safe, and effective guidance on alignment, which is the cornerstone of a sustainable and injury-free practice.

Secondly, the studio's Depth of Practice and Inclusivity is unparalleled. You can join for a gentle introduction with a teacher like Peggy or Susan, progress to the deep alignment work of Paul, or find specialized support in Daho’s prenatal classes. Furthermore, the dedication to providing free classes for women recovering from cancer is a clear, actionable demonstration of their commitment to community healing—not just profit.

Finally, the convenient service options, including both Online classes and in-studio sessions, mean that your practice can seamlessly fit into the busy California lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a gentle reintroduction to movement or a challenging path to refine and deepen your poses, Yoga House offers a welcoming, supportive, and profoundly experienced environment to achieve inner peace and physical mastery.
