Yoga Farm Ithaca Introduce
In the beautiful and vibrant city of Ithaca, New York, finding a place for quiet reflection and personal growth is a priority for many. Yoga Farm Ithaca is not your typical yoga studio; it is an educational non-profit and a sanctuary for holistic wellness that goes beyond physical postures to foster a deep connection between the mind and body. This women-owned business is dedicated to providing an inclusive, safe, and welcoming space for individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing. It offers a unique blend of traditional yoga practices and modern therapeutic modalities, emphasizing the importance of mindfulness and emotional well-being.
The philosophy at Yoga Farm Ithaca is rooted in the idea that yoga is a comprehensive practice, not just a physical workout. This is a point of distinction that is both appreciated and debated among its members. As one reviewer noted, the classes are about "movement that feels good in my body, connects my body and mind, and helps me process my emotions through somatic movement." This approach is perfect for those who are seeking a deeper, more therapeutic experience. However, another customer’s review points to this very distinction, stating, "This isn’t yoga—it’s a set of meditation practices!… My heart rate didn’t even increase during the sessions!" This feedback highlights that the studio’s style may not align with those looking for a high-intensity, physically demanding workout, but rather with those who are more focused on the mental and emotional benefits of the practice.
The studio's commitment to creating a nurturing environment is evident in the small, thoughtful details. One review mentions a spot to "make tea, bring a snack to refuel, and get ready for class without pressure or urgency." This emphasis on a calm, unhurried experience is a key part of their charm. The staff is described as "kind, welcoming, and INCREDIBLY knowledgeable," ensuring that every visitor feels supported from the moment they arrive. Yoga Farm Ithaca also proudly identifies as LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space, further solidifying its reputation as a genuinely inclusive and accepting community.

---What is Worth Choosing
For a New Yorker in the Ithaca area, Yoga Farm Ithaca is a highly compelling choice, especially for those who prioritize mental and emotional wellness as much as physical fitness. The studio’s core philosophy, which one reviewer described as helping to "process my emotions through somatic movement," sets it apart from typical gyms or high-energy yoga studios. While a review from a customer who found the class to be too focused on meditation might be a cautionary tale for those seeking a vigorous workout, it is a glowing endorsement for individuals looking to de-stress, manage chronic pain, or recover from emotional turmoil.
The welcoming community is another key factor. In a world that can often feel isolating, finding a space that is explicitly a "transgender safespace" and LGBTQ+ friendly is invaluable. The kind and knowledgeable staff, combined with an unpressured environment, create a true sanctuary. This is not a place where you will feel judged or pressured to perform. Instead, it is a space designed for personal growth and healing, where you are encouraged to listen to your body and mind.
Furthermore, the business model as an educational non-profit speaks volumes about its mission-driven approach. It is not just a commercial venture; it is a place dedicated to teaching "skills, tools and healing techniques for body and mind." The affordability of memberships and the availability of both online and onsite classes make this high-quality, specialized wellness practice accessible to a wide audience. Choosing Yoga Farm Ithaca means choosing a community that values deep, holistic well-being over superficial fitness trends, offering a path to lasting peace and personal transformation.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Yoga Farm is absolutely incredible. I'm pursuing yoga to find movement that feels good in my body, connects my body and mind, and helps me process my emotions through somatic movement. The pace, flow, and structure of yoga farm's classes is perfect for me. They're super inviting from the moment you walk in - with a spot to make tea, bring a snack to refuel, and get ready for class without pressure or urgency. The staff are kind, welcoming, and INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. AND their memberships are extremely affordable, with a wide variety of classes to choose from.
August 05 · Chris GallegoThis isn’t yoga—it’s a set of meditation practices! It would be helpful if you explained your classes in detail before charging a fee. I’ve tried different classes with various teachers, but there weren’t any real yoga movements—just poses like cat-cow or downward dog. My heart rate didn’t even increase during the sessions!
December 06 · Farzaneh SafariMy experience with Yoga Farm is beyond words but I will do my best… Transforming, Loving, Sacred, Humbling, Fun, Inspiring, and Healing. Yoga Farm’s educators and staff are simply AMAZING. Their gifts, insights, wisdom, support and experience are immeasurable. My intention in registering for the Radiant Warrior 200 hr YTT was to deepen my own practice during the pandemic. Fast forward 18 months later, and I have been teaching yoga for the past year and am currently enrolled in the Spiritual Warrior 300 hr YTT so that I may continue to evolve and offer kundalini classes as well. Whether you are looking for a school or training for your own personal practice or to become a yoga instructor, Yoga Farm Ithaca has offerings, classes and courses that will meet and exceed your expectations!
October 27 · Alvalyn LancasterSome of the instructors are creepy. One woman referred to part of her class that I attended as "obedience training". It's a mixed bag though, others are fine.Their billing system is buggy, sometimes it undercharges you, and sometimes it overcharges you. It seems that no one there knows how to keep books properly. I asked to sign up for just a month in May, and they signed me on for a recurring membership. When I discovered this, I asked for a refund, and they refused, even though I did not attend any classes in June at all. Fortunately, I keep an eye on my credit card bills, otherwise it would have kept going.
August 23 · Jack Wang**Important Message – Please Read**During the Kundalini Warrior Teacher course, I experienced a powerful awakening with the Kundalini shooting up my spine followed by a couple of months of bliss and happiness. However, this soon has turned into severe depression, which has worsened into suicidal thoughts for the last 8 months. I am still deep into suicidal depression trying to treat it with therapy and antidepressants under medical guidance.I reached out to the instructors crying for help or to get a refund, but my emails went unanswered, except for a generic Facebook message telling me to write an email which I did as mentioned, many times. No replyThey also kicked me out of their Facebook group and deleted my comments immediately.Despite my struggles, they continue to send promotional emails to get more money. Therapy and antidepressants are still not giving much relief yet. They reserve zero starsI urge others to be cautious when engaging with this kind of peopleThanks
