Y7 Studio East Village is a women-owned business that has redefined the yoga experience in New York City. The studio’s core philosophy revolves around a "we flow hard" approach, offering a unique blend of Vinyasa yoga in an infrared-heated, dark room with a hip-hop soundtrack. This setting is intentionally designed to allow students to get out of their heads and into their bodies, free from judgment and the distraction of mirrors. The darkness and heat create an environment where you can focus entirely on your practice, your breath, and the guidance of the instructor. The studio’s vibe is cool and urban, attracting a crowd that appreciates the fusion of traditional practice with a modern, high-energy twist. While it may not be the ideal choice for those seeking a quiet, meditative yoga experience, it is perfect for those who enjoy music, a warm room, and a physically challenging workout. The studio’s commitment to providing a welcoming space is also evident in its LGBTQ+ friendly policy, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and accepted. The overall atmosphere is encouraging and supportive, with instructors who are known for their creativity and positive energy.
Situated at 250 E Houston St in the East Village, Y7 Studio is easily accessible for residents of Lower Manhattan and beyond. Its location in this vibrant neighborhood means it is well-served by a variety of public transportation options, including the subway and bus systems, making it a convenient destination for anyone traveling from other parts of the city. The studio is also committed to accessibility, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This focus on inclusivity ensures that the studio is a welcoming space for all members of the community, regardless of mobility. As a part of a larger chain with multiple locations across NYC, members can often visit other studios, providing flexibility and convenience. The East Village location’s proximity to local shops, cafes, and parks also makes it easy to integrate a class into a day of exploring the neighborhood.
Y7 Studio offers a focused set of services that cater to its unique style of practice. While the core offering is its signature class, the studio also provides opportunities for professional development and other practice styles.
- Vinyasa Yoga: The studio's primary service is Vinyasa yoga. These classes are known for their continuous, fluid movement, linking each pose to the next with breath. The "WeFlowHard" classes are a challenging and athletic form of Vinyasa, perfect for building strength, flexibility, and endurance.
- Teaching Certification: For those who are passionate about the Y7 style and want to share it with others, the studio offers teaching certification programs. This allows aspiring instructors to learn the unique methodology and become certified to teach their own classes.
- Online Classes: Recognizing the need for flexibility, Y7 Studio also offers online classes. This service option allows members to practice from the comfort of their own homes, making it easier to stay consistent with their practice, especially for those with busy schedules.
- Onsite Services: In-person classes at the East Village location provide the full Y7 experience, complete with the infrared heat, darkness, and curated playlists. This is the best way to get the full sensory and physical workout the studio is known for.
Beyond the classes, Y7 Studio distinguishes itself with a number of features and amenities that enhance the overall experience. These are the details that make a huge difference in convenience and comfort for members.
- Infrared Heat and Darkness: The use of infrared heat provides a deep, therapeutic warmth that is different from traditional heated studios. The darkness helps students focus inward, minimizing distractions and encouraging a more personal practice.
- Complimentary Amenities: The studio provides several complimentary amenities, including towels for class and showers, which is a major convenience. They also offer Ursa Major face towelettes and other toiletries, adding a touch of luxury to the post-workout routine.
- Mat and Towel Rentals: For those who don't have their own equipment or are visiting, the studio offers yoga mat and large yoga towel rentals. This ensures that everyone can participate without having to bring heavy gear.
- Locker and Shower Facilities: The presence of lockers and showers is a significant highlight, allowing members to safely store their belongings and freshen up after a sweaty class. This makes it easy to fit a workout into a busy day.

January 09 · Isabella GrandicInfrared warm yoga with Jess is such a wonderful time; I seek out her classes. She has a great voice and is so encouraging in class. The flows are creative and the breathing cues are great too. Also nice music that I vibe with. The studio is clean with wonderful amenities like complimentary gym towels, showers, Ursa Major face towelettes and other toiletries. You will need to rent a yoga mat, and large yoga towel if you do not bring one.I attend pretty regularly with classpass for the Restore classes, but occasionally for their signature WeFlowHard classes, especially on Fridays if they have a theme like Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Post Malone. If you are a traditional yogi type, this class is probably not for you... class is in the dark, with pop music, and sometimes less traditional flows. But if you do like music, a warm/hot room, and an athletic challenge, you might want to give it a try!
June 09 · Sonja EllicottI tried Y7 EV on ClassPass, loved it, and decided to do the unlimited monthly membership. I have been attending 3-5x/week for the last three weeks and absolutely love it! The temperature in the room is perfect, and the flows are directed with very clear directives. They are challenging and the instructors always offer helpful modifications. Angelica is fantastic and creates a very safe and calm environment while also encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself. The sculpt classes are fantastic as well and offer something a little different! All of the instructors seem to offer something slightly different which make the classes diverse and interesting, they have all been great!
November 19 · Shannon CullenAlekhya's flows are fantastic. They are the perfect amount of challenging and she always encourages her students to modify. I've talked to her a few times after class. She's very encouraging and always open to questions and feedback. Bonus points because her music selection is always super vibey.
March 16 · Anisha DagaLove this Studio! Hot yoga via Infrared heat, led candles and no mirrors! All the best to focus on your practice on the mat! Love the instructors and staff! Good vibes all around ✨
