For residents of Georgia seeking a premium, all-inclusive health and athletic experience, Windy Hill Athletic Club presents a compelling option that transcends the typical gym model. What makes this club particularly worth choosing is the unparalleled breadth and quality of its specialized facilities and programming. It is truly a multi-sport destination, not just a fitness center. Members consistently highlight the amazing trainers, the wide array of over 100 weekly fitness classes, and the general social, community atmosphere as significant draws.
The amenity package goes far beyond the workout floor, creating a genuine sense of a resort-like retreat. Features like the full-service locker rooms with saunas and steam rooms (when operational), a café, and the highly-regarded complimentary childcare (Kidtown) are invaluable for busy families and professionals. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1WHAC is whack!I’ve been a member for almost three years, and today the hot water is out yet again…the third (maybe fourth) time this year. Each time, it takes more than a day to fix. On top of that, the steam room breaks down about once a month, tiles constantly fall off and get glued back on only to fall again the first day it reopens, there’s black mold above the showers, and the toilets often don’t flush fully, leaving them unusable.Meanwhile, membership fees keep climbing 6–12% a year while the quality keeps dropping. At this point, it’s barely better than a budget gym, and those often have more equipment. For what they’re charging, it’s creeping way too close to Life Time territory, without the Life Time quality. They’ve been promising renovations for years. Yes, climate controlled indoor tennis is finally happening, but expect an extra fee. And let’s be honest: new treadmills aren’t “renovations.”I’m still a member (for now), but actively looking elsewhere. For this price, you can get multiple memberships and a far better experience. Think twice before joining.
August 18 · Jason ArnoldKidtown is great, the teachers and activities are wonderful (no screens or TV, just crafts, coloring, and toys). Our daughter loves going there. The sauna and steam room are not working once a month or so. The cafe’s food is subpar, often missing items in salads, or out of food and/or drinks. The staff members are very friendly, and the locker rooms are always clean.
August 24 · Brittany AveraOutdated and consistently promising things with no follow through. We’ve been told things are getting updated for well over a year and a half. Crunch has better equipment. There’s no follow through when you ask for something at the front. Charging this amount with a lack of follow up is insane to me. The weight room is one of the smallest areas in the gym and some of the trainers like to take up spaces for group training which I find very unthoughtful. Can someone please address the decline of what has the potential to be a great club - it has a good location but I wish lifetime would buy it.
June 16 · Tiana BranchI am truly enjoying my experience here & am so happy they offer such excellent child care so that I feel great about leaving my kiddo. This is my kids first time away from me and the ladies have been so patient and kind to him, I can’t say enough good this about them! The gym is always very clean and I’ve enjoyed taking a few classes so far. I’m also really excited to attend the Tennis in No Time clinic soon too! As a first time mom, joining WH has been the best decision ever for my mental and physical health!
April 09 · Jordan HollettI think this gym is a good fit for a specific type of person. If you play tennis, this is a great spot for you! If you do any type of strength training, you’re better off at an LA fitness or crunch for much less than $200/month. Most of the campus is tennis courts and a large basketball court in the middle. There are 3 squat racks and 2 smith machines for the entire building. As you can imagine, it’s a nightmare when they’re busy and for a gym this size, at this expense, I would expect a wider variety of strength training machines. It just isn’t well rounded. They’re very tennis focused. The interior feels very dated. I really signed up for this gym because it also had a nice dry sauna. However, an older woman fell in the sauna and they have turned off the calming infrared lights and opted for the emergency light (which is extremely bright) as the only option. It’s just not relaxing. There’s definitely a weird entitlement with a lot of the members. The vibe of this gym is mid. If you’ve ever been to Fineo or another gym with great energy, you know what I’m talking about. If you’re older, if your fitness routine doesn’t have too much strength training, and if you play tennis, this is a good gym for you. I’d say anyone under 40 would do better at the Lifetime in Buckhead. To each his own! This was just my experience.
