WhitFit NYC aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, making it a standout option in a city filled with fitness choices. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting your journey, this studio offers a supportive community and expert instructors who are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. This article will take you through an in-depth look at what WhitFit NYC has to offer, from its accessible location and diverse class offerings to the unique features that make it a favorite among its members.
Location and accessibility are crucial considerations for any New Yorker's fitness routine. WhitFit NYC is conveniently situated at 155 Rivington St, New York, NY 10002, USA. This address places it in the heart of the Lower East Side, a neighborhood known for its dynamic energy and rich culture. The studio's prime location makes it easily accessible via public transportation, as it's just a few blocks away from major subway stops like the Delancey/Essex station. This makes commuting to and from the studio convenient for a wide range of city residents. Additionally, the studio has made a clear commitment to inclusivity, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This ensures that the space is welcoming and accommodating for people of all abilities. The studio's presence in a bustling and central part of the city allows members to easily integrate their workouts into their daily lives, whether they are heading to class before work or meeting friends for a sweat session in the evening.
WhitFit NYC offers a diverse range of services, all designed to be high-impact on the muscles while remaining low-impact on the joints. The studio’s signature classes are often heated with infrared technology, which adds another layer to the workout and provides additional benefits.
Hot Sculpt: This is a barre and Pilates fusion class that uses hand weights and other props. It is designed to get the heart rate up and tone muscles without high-cardio movements. The room is heated to 85-90 degrees, ensuring a deep sweat.
Hot Pilates: This is not a typical Mat Pilates class. It is a low-impact, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class that uses Pilates principles to create a full-body workout. The goal is to achieve an "afterburn" effect, where the body continues to burn calories for hours after the workout. The room is heated to 85-95 degrees.
Kettlebell HIIT: This class focuses on using lighter kettlebells with more repetitions to build burn and strength. It's a high-intensity class designed to challenge endurance and power. The room is heated to 75-80 degrees.
Vinyasa Yoga: The studio offers Vinyasa Flow, which links breath to movement. Each instructor brings their own creative flow and music. Both heated and non-heated options are available, catering to different preferences.
Restorative Yoga: A non-heated class that serves as an antidote to stress. It focuses on using props and blankets to facilitate relaxation of the body and mind, aligning with traditional restorative teachings.
Specialty Classes: The studio also offers unique classes like "Sculpt and Stretch," which combines their signature sculpt class with functional mobility stretching, as well as "Infrared Reformer Fusion," which blends machine and mat Pilates with a light heat for added benefits.
The features and highlights of WhitFit NYC are what truly set it apart and contribute to its strong reputation among its dedicated clientele. These elements enhance the overall workout and create a special environment.
Infrared Heat Technology: A key highlight is the use of infrared heat in many of their classes. This type of heat is known for its ability to penetrate deeper into the muscles, helping with flexibility, reducing inflammation, and promoting a detoxifying sweat. It provides a distinct and beneficial workout experience.
Welcoming and Inclusive Community: The studio proudly identifies as LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space. This commitment to inclusivity is reflected in the reviews, where many members mention feeling like they are "part of a community." The instructors are noted for being very welcoming and encouraging, which helps members feel comfortable and supported.
Expert and Attentive Instructors: Members consistently praise the instructors for their ability to motivate and guide them through challenging workouts. They are described as professional, knowledgeable, and capable of pushing people "in the best way." This high level of instruction is a core component of the WhitFit experience.
Aesthetically Pleasing Environment: The studio is described as "so cute," which, while a minor detail, contributes to a positive and enjoyable experience. The attention to aesthetics, along with the availability of branded merchandise, helps build a strong brand identity and community feel.
Convenient Payment Methods: The studio makes it easy to pay for classes by accepting a variety of options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This modern convenience is a small but important detail for busy New Yorkers.

What is worth choosing? For New Yorkers, WhitFit NYC offers a highly specialized and effective alternative to a traditional gym. The value here lies in the unique combination of high-intensity, low-impact workouts and the therapeutic benefits of infrared heat. While some public feedback mentions a strict late-arrival policy and isolated negative experiences with staff, it is important to consider the overall positive sentiment. The strict policies, such as locking doors promptly when class starts, are in place to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted experience for all participants. The overwhelmingly positive reviews from long-term members, who describe the classes as transformative and the community as welcoming, provide a more complete picture. The consistent praise for the instructors and the effectiveness of the workouts—resulting in people feeling "snatched" and "rejuvenated"—demonstrates that the core product is high-quality and delivers on its promises. For a fitness enthusiast who is looking for a structured, challenging, and community-oriented environment, WhitFit NYC is an excellent choice. It is particularly well-suited for those who appreciate the benefits of heated workouts and prefer a more personalized, class-based approach over independent gym sessions. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Best work out studio in NYC!! I love WhitFit, the classes are the perfect balance of getting the heart rate going plus strength. The first time I took a class I thought I was in shape but by the end it kicked my butt (in the best way) and I certainly got my moneys worth!! These classes will have you feeling and looking snatched! All the instructors are very welcoming and make you feel like you're part of a community. I especially LOVE the infrared heat and always leave having got a great sweat in and feeling rejuvenated! The studio itself is so cute too and they have great merch! Highly recommend.
September 26 · Victoria LewryI’m extremely disappointed with the experience at your studio this morning. Myself and five other women arrived just four minutes after class started—due to significant train delays—and were met with a locked door. While I understand policies around late arrivals, four minutes hardly seems unreasonable, especially given the circumstances. What was especially frustrating was that a staff member saw us waiting, refused to even open the door to speak with us, and simply walked away. Not only were we not given the chance to explain or ask about joining the next class, we were treated with complete disregard. This kind of treatment is not only unprofessional but also incredibly unwelcoming. I’ve taken this class before and unfortunately received similarly dismissive behavior. On top of that, the studio itself is not well-maintained—the space is dirty, and the equipment is outdated. We will not be returning, and I would not recommend this studio to others.
May 03 · Brooklyn Bagwell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Whit Fit NYC is a game changer!Whitney, the amazing owner and NYC local, has truly created a gem with this studio. I took the Pilates class after hearing so many great things—and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! From the upbeat music to the energetic and friendly crowd, the mood was just perfect. Whitney knows how to keep you moving and motivated throughout the entire session.Make sure to arrive 5-10 minutes early because the door closes right at class time (don’t miss out!). And don't leave without checking out the super cute merch—trust me, you’ll want a piece of it!Can’t wait to come back for more classes. Whit Fit NYC has my heart!
September 28 · MarthaMy first time at Whitfit and had a great experience. The studio is so cute, love the pink lights and decorations in the lobby. Check in process was super easy, the front desk person was very friendly and inviting. Took hot Pilates with Anita, the class was challenging but not over the top. Loved her energy and the music was great. Will definitely be coming back!
May 06 · Luke BarnettAbsolutely love this studio!! Gary is an amazing instructor and brings the best energy and workouts to his classes. Be prepared to get the hardest workout of your life. ❤️The studio often is ran by the instructor on duty so if you come late expect the doors to be locked- they are busy instructing the class! This never bothers me as I always aim to get to class atleast 15 min before it starts.
