Instead, it offers a deeply personalized and therapeutic approach to movement and well-being. This article will serve as your local guide to understanding what makes this business a valuable resource for our community, focusing on its specialized services, welcoming atmosphere, and practical details you need to know before you book your appointment.
In the world of fitness and wellness, a one-size-fits-all approach often falls short. Tri-Care Performance and Wellness seems to understand this implicitly, building its foundation on customized care. The owner, Tom, has a background as a dedicated flexibility therapist and certified yoga teacher, which allows him to blend deep knowledge of the body with a passion for helping clients. This expertise is a key part of the value offered, as it allows for a truly personalized experience. The goal is to help you achieve balance, reduce pain, and optimize your body's natural healing potential.
Based on the reviews from real customers, the experience here is more than just a class—it's a targeted session to address specific needs and concerns. This focus on individual well-being is a huge draw for people who have been struggling with chronic issues or those who are simply looking for a more effective way to improve their physical health. From the initial consultation to the tailored session, Tri-Care Performance and Wellness is designed to provide a supportive and effective environment for your personal wellness journey.
Tri-Care Performance and Wellness is conveniently located at 315 Garfield Ave, Bay City, MI 48708, USA. This location makes it easily accessible for residents of Bay City and the surrounding communities. A centrally located wellness provider is a great asset to any neighborhood, as it reduces travel time and makes it easier to stay consistent with your appointments.
The business has made a clear commitment to accessibility, which is a significant highlight. It features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. These features ensure that the studio is open and welcoming to people of all physical abilities. In addition to these physical accommodations, the business also provides amenities such as a gender-neutral restroom, creating an inclusive and safe space for all members of the community, including those who identify as LGBTQ+ and are looking for a transgender-safe place to practice.
The accessibility and inclusive atmosphere are core to the business's identity, ensuring that everyone who walks through the door feels respected and at ease. For many, finding a place that not only meets their physical needs but also provides a sense of safety and community is just as important as the services themselves. This thoughtful approach to accessibility and inclusivity makes Tri-Care Performance and Wellness a truly special place in the Bay City area.
As a yoga studio, Tri-Care Performance and Wellness specializes in a unique set of services that go beyond a traditional group class format. The focus is on a highly personalized approach to well-being.
- Private Lessons: The core of their offering is one-on-one sessions. These private lessons allow the instructor to focus solely on your specific needs, goals, and limitations. This customized attention is ideal for people recovering from injury, those with chronic pain, or anyone who simply prefers a more personal and targeted practice.
- Assisted Yoga: A key service highlighted in customer reviews is "assisted yoga," which starts from $45.00. This modality is more of a therapeutic session than a traditional yoga class. It is described by clients as a combination of assisted stretching, Thai massage, and acupressure. The instructor helps clients achieve greater flexibility and range of motion through hands-on adjustments and pressure points, which can lead to significant pain relief and improved movement.
The model of "appointment required" and "appointments recommended" further reinforces the personalized nature of the services. It ensures that each client receives dedicated time and attention, and that the instructor can prepare for their specific needs. This is not a drop-in studio; it's a place where your session is a pre-planned, focused experience tailored to you.
Tri-Care Performance and Wellness offers a variety of highlights that make it a compelling choice for locals.
- Personalized, One-on-One Care: The primary highlight is the highly customized nature of the services. Clients are not just part of a class; they are individuals with unique needs that are addressed directly by the instructor.
- Expertise in Pain Relief and Mobility: The reviews consistently praise the instructor, Tom, for his exceptional skills as a "body worker" who uses "modalities" and "assisted stretching" to help clients with issues like Sacroiliac joint dysfunction. This focus on therapeutic outcomes is a significant differentiator.
- Safe and Inclusive Environment: The business is designated as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender-safe space, and it features a gender-neutral restroom. This commitment to inclusivity creates a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for everyone.
- Focus on Holistic Wellness: The services blend elements of traditional yoga with therapeutic techniques like Thai massage and acupressure. This holistic approach looks at the body as a whole, considering how different parts are interconnected to promote overall wellness.
- Convenient Payment Options: The studio accepts credit card payments, making transactions simple and straightforward for clients.
The testimonials speak volumes about the quality of the services. One client expressed immense satisfaction with the results after suffering from Sacroiliac joint dysfunction for 10 years, noting the sessions were the "perfect compliment" to their other treatments. Another client felt "very at ease" and "really great after the session," praising the customized nature of the experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I just finished my 4th session with Tom today. I have been suffering from Sacroiliac joint dysfunction for 10 years now. His modalities have been the perfect compliment to my prolo-therapy treatments to regain my range of motion and ease the pain that I have been going through. I am more than pleased to the results that I am seeing and looking forward to continuing in the future.
June 26 · Brendan ReedMy appointment with Tom was more than I had hoped for. He addressed my concerns I expressed prior and I felt very at ease during but felt really great after the session. He is an exceptional body worker using elements of Thai massage and assisted stretching. He spent the time as it was customized to what I needed. I will be going back!
September 11 · MellaMy experience at Tri-Care Assisted Yoga has been awesome. I go on a weekly basis and always feel better after my session. My hands, feet, back, neck, and muscles have been stretched and massaged and feel so much better when I'm done. I also appreciate the tips that Tom gives me for exercises I can do at home to stay healthy. I highly recommend Tom for a yoga massage!!! Joanna
May 16 · Joanna KernstockI highly recommend a session at tri-care assisted yoga! I've had many holistic healing experiences however I have yet to experience one quite like this. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comforting. Tom is so very kind and professional. He takes the time to discuss and tailor the session to exactly what is needed. It's like a therapeutic massage, chiropractic, yoga stretching intuitive healing session all in one. I felt relief immediately, inflammation and tensions moved out that I have not been able to release for months. I'm still feeling relief and the stretches he took the time to show me have helped me to further relax tense muscles and everyday pains from home. I will definitely be coming back!
November 21 · Kendra SkalnicanI had a total hip replacement 17 months ago and went to Tom Spas for help with pain/flexibility/stress from my work. I have only went once so far but was able to really relax and experienced relief in several areas of my body from the surgery and stress. I will continue to go to build upon the benefits of his work. Thank you Tom!
