★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been going to see Jenny at The Training Room for almost three years. Jenny is a really thoughtful and dynamic trainer who is quick to improvise solutions that work for me and my fitness level. Super welcoming environment, exceptionally clean and always good energy. So grateful to have discovered it when I moved back to MA a few years ago!
January 16 · Sonja JI've been going here for about a year now, and it's been so good! I've been working with Kevin who is awesome, gives great advice both during the session and for exercising at home, and is a super clear, encouraging, and knowledgeable teacher. It feels great to see yourself making so much progress (being able to lift way more, do more reps, generally feeling more energetic, not getting tired as easily, also I can touch my toes now! Thanks Kevin!) while having a good time throughout. Two thumbs up!!Update: About a year ago, I transitioned from personal training to the group class (TRAC) which is run by Richard. I was pretty nervous about the change, even though it made sense for me on many level, in large part since Kevin was so great and a lot of why I loved coming to the gym. I’m happy to report that I’m in fact happier than ever!!It’s really nice having a stable group of people you see every week and make progress with together; long term I think this is the most sustainable way to keep my motivation strong. And I am so impressed with Richard and feel very lucky to have him as my new trainer. He is incredibly good at keeping track of everyone, so even though it’s a group class, you get tons of individual feedback. He clearly is highly knowledgable about fitness and is very responsive to your performance in-class, as well as questions you bring in. For example, my friend’s hypermobility led to some issues with her deadlift, which even in a group setting Richard quickly noticed and addressed with 1-on-1 help during class. These kinds of adjustments are also great to see when you’re not the one getting helped, since it gives you a better understanding of the exercise and the movements that go into it.I also know that when I bring up an issue I have with an exercise, or if I have some physical problem that might impact my performance, Richard will take it seriously and help me with my posture/weight choice/whatever, or modify the program for me if necessary. So on a practical level I think I’m getting the absolute most possible out of a one-hour group class. On a less practical level, Richard and the other staff I have interacted with are so friendly, supportive, and professional. Richard especially is so encouraging and always makes me feel great about the progress I’ve made, even on those days when I’m inclined to feel down about it. That is really important to me as someone that had mostly negative experiences in the past with fitness related activities. When I think of exercising now, I think about the supportive and welcoming environment I have at TRAC; going to class is one of the highlights of my week. Thank you Richard for all your help over the past year+; I’m looking forward as always to my next class!
November 12 · Deanna DalyI have been going to the training room for the past 7 months and have had a great experience. I found it based upon a recommendation of a massage therapist who was helping me recover from a back injury. I started out with personal training sessions and then moved on to focus on classes a few times a week. The staff is really pretty great, they focus on doing the movement correctly which means you don't get hurt! The classes definitely vary in intensity but once you figure it out you'll have a great experience.
January 07 · Matthew CardosoI've been to three circut training group classes in the past 2 weeks. I liked my first class so much a bought a 12 class pass afterwards. Ive worked with a trainer one on one before but that was years ago and strength training on my own wasn't cutting it anymore. A few of my friends have been going for a while and love it so i tried it.I found the trainers to be really knowledgeable. They thoroughly explained each exercise and gave good one on one instruction on how to use proper form. Being new to class they were very good about checking in and providing help.
February 28 · kathleen hanlonFirst time going to a personal trainer. Every staff member at The Training Room has been friendly, professional, and encouraging. While it is a bit pricey it is worth every penny.
