What is worth choosing?
Choosing The Tennis and Fitness Centre in Oak Park is a decision to join a community that values diverse fitness pursuits and a comprehensive approach to wellness. The positive feedback from a tournament participant highlights the club's ability to host well-organized events and foster a fun, social atmosphere. For tennis and racquet sport enthusiasts in Illinois, the dedicated courts and organized leagues are a major draw. The availability of both group and private lessons ensures that members can find a training style that suits them, whether they prefer the energy of a group or the focused attention of one-on-one instruction. The inclusion of Pilates and yoga studios alongside traditional gym equipment provides a well-rounded fitness experience that supports both physical strength and mental well-being.
However, it is crucial for potential members to be aware of the costs associated with the club, as raised by a customer review. The review points out that membership fees are on the higher end, and a separate, substantial fee is required for court time. This financial aspect is a significant consideration, especially for those who plan on using the tennis facilities frequently. The review suggests that the high cost might make it "not worth it unless you're rich" and describes the gym facilities as "decent at best." This feedback indicates that the club's primary value may lie in its tennis offerings rather than its general fitness amenities. Prospective members should carefully evaluate their budget and priorities. If your main goal is to access high-quality tennis facilities and lessons, and you are prepared for the associated costs, The Tennis and Fitness Centre could be an excellent fit. For those primarily seeking a budget-friendly gym for general workouts, this club may not be the most suitable option in the Illinois region. The ideal member is likely someone who will take full advantage of the extensive tennis and specialized studio offerings, seeing the general fitness area as a supplemental convenience rather than the main attraction.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I participated in a pickleball tournament this weekend that was organized by Kevin Bullens and he did a great job organizing it! We all had a great time.
May 31 · Melissa SoriaNot worth it unless you're rich. Membership fees are $100+/month and one hour of court time costs $75 (on top of membership fee) during the week. Gym facilities are decent at best.
November 20 · Shua BauerI love it here. These are my pickleball home courts. The people are awesome & I’ve made some great friends thru PB open play & tournaments. Vera & Johnny are great it’s worth the quick 20 minute drive from the city & just over the border in Oak Park.
February 20 · Josh KorinThe hours aren't great and the facilities are a little run down, but the staff are amazing, the classes are varied and usually have low attendance (hello, free one-on-one yoga class, don't mind if I do!), and there is always plenty of equipment to go around. This is not a "nice" gym, but it is perfect for me!
February 02 · Hannah CampbellI signed up a Yoga class for my daughter on Thursday, June 29th. She planned on buying new Yoga clothes and start the class on the following Monday. Unfortunately, she got hospitalized over the weekend. Monday, I stopped by this facility to discuss the refund and a counter person told me that there was no manager available. He advised me to sent email to the manager, Polly G., Tennis and Fitness center. So, I sent email to Polly. I had not heard from her, I sent her another email on July 7th. No replies. The facility is nearby me, so I stopped by Sunday, July 9th to talk to someone. Then, I was told that Polly was no longer there. I was told me to stop by next day, Monday to talk with Patrick, General Manager. So, I went back to the facility after sending two emails and stopping by twice. Patrick offered me alternative that he could extend the time. I told him that it is not known at this point when my daughter will be released. I told him that I'd prefer cancel it and re-sign when she comes back. Then, his attitude changed. He said that he couldn't sign a check. He would needed to verify with Yoga instructor whether my daughter attended or not. I was amazed how much I had to go through to get the refund and how unorganized the management was for even issuing a refund check. I asked him to let me know and left for home. He said he would. He never called. I went back Thursday, July 13th. Now, this time Patrick was rude. To begin with, his face was stone cold. He said he left a message to my daughter's voice mail. He could only communicate with her since it was her account. I told him that she is in the hospital and has no access to phone. Then, he changed his reasoning, saying, "How do I know if YOU paid or she paid." I told him that I used my credit card and asked him to check his computer to verify the card number. He found the last four digits of my credit card and I showed my credit card. They matched and it prove that I was the one who paid. Then, he got so agitated and told me that he won't refund the money anyways. I asked why, and he said the membership was non-refundable. OMG. if it was the reason and he should have told me at the first place. If he told me early, I could have walked away. He didn't have to come up with hundreds of excuses not giving the refund. Then, he got so rude, yelled at me to leave. His demeanor changed to a rude and unprofessional man. He yelled at me that he won't refund and told me not to come back. I didn't understand why he was so rude. I became dumbfounded by his unprofessional insane conduct. He even called the cops telling them that I was yelling at him. This man was losing his mind. I was disgusted with his rudeness. The cops came. They heard both sides of story. I told them that I won't be back to this place. The cops said I could explore other ways to complain like Reviews on website and Word of mouths. I thanked to the cops and I left the place. Here I am writing my experience with this man. One of his staff said that this man is a co-owner. What a moron with no mannerism or customer service!! I wanted to file complaints in BBB and found this facility wasn't even registered at BBB. I like to warn Oak Park'ers not to deal with Patrick. There are a plenty of Yoga places in Oak Park. This facility may be good for some people but dealing with this man will give you a bad taste. This is why I am giving ONE star for this facility. Watch out!
