The Little Gym of Brooklyn Heights Introduce
For parents in New York City, finding a safe, engaging, and constructive outlet for their children's boundless energy can be a top priority. The Little Gym of Brooklyn Heights provides a perfect solution, offering a fun-filled environment where kids can learn, grow, and build confidence. Unlike a traditional gym for adults, this space is dedicated entirely to the development of children, from infants to pre-teens. The philosophy is simple but powerful: "Serious Fun." This means every class, every activity, and every moment is designed to be a blast for your child, while also fostering crucial physical, social, and emotional skills. It's a place where a child's natural curiosity and desire to play are harnessed to teach everything from motor skills to teamwork.
The Little Gym's approach is rooted in a proprietary curriculum called "3-Dimensional Learning." This philosophy ensures that while children are having a great time, they are also developing in three key areas: "Get Moving!" for physical skills, "Brain Boost" for cognitive development, and "Citizen Kid" for social and emotional growth. Whether it's a baby learning to sit up or a grade-schooler mastering a handstand, the activities are age-appropriate and designed to help children progress at their own pace. The staff, who are described as welcoming, creative, and accommodating, are a cornerstone of this experience. They create a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere where every child feels seen and celebrated. For a parent, this means peace of mind, knowing that your child is not only getting a great physical workout but is also building character traits like confidence, leadership, and a love of learning.
The environment at The Little Gym of Brooklyn Heights is carefully crafted to be a worry-free zone for both kids and parents. The facility is consistently described as clean and safe, with padded equipment and a variety of setups that change weekly to keep things fresh and exciting. Parents appreciate the opportunity for their children to explore and socialize in a controlled, air-conditioned space, which is a luxury in a city with limited indoor play areas. The diversity of the children attending and the welcoming staff create a community feel that makes everyone feel at home.
The Little Gym of Brooklyn Heights is located at 221 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11201. This address places it in a prime, highly accessible neighborhood for families living in and around Brooklyn. Atlantic Avenue is a major thoroughfare, and the gym's location is well-served by public transportation. It is a short walk from several major subway lines, including the 2, 3, 4, 5, F, and G trains, making it a convenient destination from many parts of the city. The proximity to hubs like Borough Hall and the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station means it's an easy trip for parents with strollers and young children.
For those who prefer to drive, paid street parking is available in the vicinity. However, given the density of the area, it's always a good idea to factor in a little extra time to find a spot. The excellent public transit options, however, make it simple to get to your class without the added stress of driving in the city.

For parents in New York, choosing a place like The Little Gym of Brooklyn Heights is a decision to invest in their child's holistic development. In a city where children's activities are abundant, this gym stands out for its commitment to "Serious Fun" and its proven, structured curriculum. The value lies not just in the physical skills—like learning to walk or master a cartwheel—but in the soft skills that are equally important. Children learn to follow directions, take turns, and interact with a diverse group of peers in a safe and supportive setting. This socialization aspect is invaluable, especially for young children who may not be in a regular daycare or preschool environment.
The convenience of a membership-based model ensures a consistent and progressive learning experience. The friendly and accommodating staff members are highly praised by parents, who feel confident leaving their children in their care. The bonus services like birthday parties and camps also make it a one-stop-shop for a child's recreational needs throughout the year. While some may consider it pricey, as one reviewer noted, the benefits—such as increased confidence, improved coordination, and a love for physical activity—are well worth the investment. For any New York parent looking for a place where their child can burn off energy while building a foundation for a healthy and confident life, The Little Gym of Brooklyn Heights is a top-tier choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We love Little Gym! It’s helping my son become more confident and he is so close to walking. There are different exercises that they work on each week! The teachers and staff are great
July 30 · Jessica KimmelCan not say enough good things about this place. My son started with drop in classes and we transitioned into members, best decision. Very pricey but worth it. He absolutely loves coming here and exploring the equipment and meeting an occasional friend. There is also a diverse group of children attending which I really like. The staff are welcoming and his teacher is very sweet accommodating and creative. Guardians must be masked and vaxxed which I also like.
February 25 · BritniMy daughter started little gym since she was 18 months old and 9 she is 9.5 years old.Great and attentive teachers. Even during pandemic they didnt forget about us.Highly recommend.
July 29 · Chesgheli BMy daughter sprained her ankle there and instead of trying to help her they pushed her to continue and then failed to watch her again. I pulled her out of the class limping. She fell off a beam because no one was helping or guiding her. This is not a well organized space for little ones. Often the kids run around without adults watching on advanced gym equipment or sometimes classes have been understaffed - as a parent watching the class it feels like a constant accident waiting to happen. I have felt this way since we signed up but stayed on since my daughter enjoyed running around but when she finally got hurt I regretted it. If you’re looking for something supervised this is not the place.
January 28 · Pepi GinsbergI signed up my 4 year old daughter for the summer gymnastics package and she loves it. Her teacher is so patient and kind and we are always excited for her class. The ladies at the front desk is extremely polite and always have a smile on their face, they greet you graciously every time. This is my child’s first gymnastics class and we are so happy that it’s a wonderful experience. We definitely recommend them.
