Studio City Fitness Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Studio City Fitness, located on the highly-trafficked Ventura Boulevard, serves a niche within the extensive Los Angeles fitness market. It is often described by patrons as a **"bare bones"** or **"no-frills"** gym, focusing on providing essential weights and equipment for serious, self-directed workouts. In a city saturated with luxurious health clubs, this facility appeals to California users who prioritize straightforward access to heavy lifting equipment and effective exercise over high-end amenities or extensive modern facilities.
The business is categorized not only as a traditional **Gym** and **Sports club** but also offers **Professional services** related to fitness, notably **Personal trainer** services. This suggests that while the physical space may be basic, its core offering is facilitating workouts, particularly those guided by professional trainers. The model appears to be membership-required, positioning it as a dedicated space for regular lifters and those who require simple, consistent access to heavy weights during their lunch breaks or daily routines.
Crucially, public feedback indicates that prospective members must manage expectations regarding the facility's overall condition and atmosphere. While the equipment is described as functional for lifting, the general environment is often contrasted sharply with the "many amazing gym options" available in Los Angeles. The nature of the member experience, particularly interaction with the owner, is a highly significant factor that warrants careful consideration before committing to membership.
Location and Accessibility
Studio City Fitness is centrally located in the desirable and high-traffic area of Studio City, California, right on the iconic **Ventura Boulevard**. The address is 12733 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, USA. This highly visible location makes it readily accessible to local residents and commuters across the San Fernando Valley, including those in Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, and the Hollywood Hills who travel through the area.
Its position on a major thoroughfare means it is surrounded by a dense mix of local businesses, restaurants, and residential areas, making it convenient for incorporating a workout into a busy daily schedule. However, parking can often be a challenge along Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. To address accessibility needs, the facility does provide a **wheelchair accessible parking lot**, which is a vital feature for supporting community members with mobility requirements.
As a reminder for those planning a visit, the club operates on a **membership required** basis for access to the gym floor. Planning a visit should include accounting for potential traffic on Ventura Blvd and ensuring the necessary payment methods—including **Credit cards, Debit cards, and NFC mobile payments**—are prepared for any transactions related to membership or services.
Services Offered
The core business model of Studio City Fitness is built around providing a venue for exercise, complemented by professional services that facilitate deeper fitness instruction and growth. The services available focus on enabling members to conduct their workouts effectively, whether independently or with expert guidance.
UL
LI Gym Access: The primary service is providing **"bare bones"** access to functional workout equipment, particularly weights, suitable for fundamental strength training and consistent daily lifting routines.
LI Personal Trainer Services: The facility functions as a space where **Personal trainers** can conduct private and specialized training sessions, allowing clients to receive customized fitness programming, form correction, and accountability for their goals.
LI Mover Services: Categorized under "Mover," this potentially indicates a service related to moving heavy equipment, or perhaps a niche function related to physical therapy or sports movement instruction, although the exact nature is not explicitly detailed in public information.
LI Professional Services: This general categorization encompasses the specialized coaching and instruction provided by personal trainers and other fitness professionals operating within the facility.
LI Sports Club Activities: While the primary focus is lifting, the classification as a **Sports club** suggests the potential, though not explicitly confirmed, for specialized group fitness or sport-specific training activities.

Address: 12733 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604, USA
Phone: (818) 621-1858
Mobile Phone: +1 818-621-1858
Prospective members are strongly advised to call ahead to inquire about the membership process and current policies, particularly given the gym’s unique operational style as described in public feedback.
What is worth choosing
Studio City Fitness may be worth choosing for a highly specific demographic: the individual who seeks a **basic, accessible, and affordable space** focused purely on lifting, and who places minimal value on modern aesthetics, comprehensive amenities, or a generally "friendly" customer service environment. The core value proposition is straightforward: a functional space on Ventura Blvd with **heavy weights** that can serve as a simple base for **personal training** and dedicated, independent workouts.
However, it is imperative for potential California members to be **fully aware** of the significant public feedback concerning the owner's alleged aggressive, rude, and dismissive interactions. Multiple reviewers have used strong language—describing the experience as "harass," "unreasonably aggressive," and advising people to "just stay away." These accounts detail repeated, nit-picky confrontations over minor issues and, notably, a highly unsettling environment for women.
In conclusion, while the gym offers a functional, no-frills workout space—which can be a rare find amidst boutique studios—the overwhelming public sentiment suggests that the **atmosphere and owner's conduct** are major, recurring obstacles. For those prioritizing a safe, respectful, and positive environment, the "total dump" facility and the alleged disruptive, hostile interactions are factors that make it difficult to recommend this gym over the "many amazing gym options" available across Studio City and the broader Los Angeles area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm a firm believer in finding the good in people and also in businesses. I also don't like to write negative reviews, only positive ones. But this time I feel I need to warn people of what they will almost certainly experience to just stay away. While I enjoyed going here as a bare bones gym during lunch breaks - because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how nice weights are, as long as they're heavy, you can lift them - but, unfortunately, the owner of this gym does not understand how to interact with people kindly and with respect, who are doing him the honor of paying him for a membership to a place most would classify as a total dump, in a city with many amazing gym options. Not always, but just about every single time I interacted with him, he had to "talk with you about something," which meant an extremely nit-picky diatribe about something not at all worth mentioning that I was apparently doing wrong. One time I didn't shut a door to his liking. Another time, in a hurry, I wore jeans for a brief workout, and so that was a sin, even though 99.99% of the time I always wear gym clothes. Another time he accused me of pooping all over a toilet seat, said that he watched camera footage, and so it had to be me "or the other guy." So, he's basically a Saturday Night Live character, maybe The Gym Downer? The Fussy Gym Owner? All this to say, I had enough and told him he was being nit-picky, which was met with him telling me to never come back. Don't waste your time. It's a lesson in: You get what you pay for.
February 28 · Micah EnloeThe owner of this gym is very aggressive like a previous review said. I have been working out here with a trainer for the past two months. He has always been rude and dismissive, especially to women. Today he has been doing renovation by himself and the gym is a holy mess, completely disrupting the workouts of people but everyone was working around it. Today after my workout I went to the restroom- which had no sign that said "do not use." I use the restroom, flush the toilet, wash my hands. Then hear aggressive banging and yelling at the door. I open it. There is the owner (names Dimitri) standing less than two feet from me yelling at me, gesturing at water- coming from the washing machine- not the restroom, yelling at me that "he told me not to use it." Which he did not. I am still shaking from my encounter with him. Ladies stay away. This gym is garbage, the equipment is old and this man will harass you and make you feel unsafe.
April 06 · JessicaThe state of the gym aside, they seem to have trouble canceling a membership. The first time I was charged after canceling I assumed I screwed up the paperwork and spoke directly to the owner to make sure this time it was done correctly. And yet, three months later I was charged again for a "membership that has been canceled." My concern is that this is happening to other clients and they miss the charges.
November 25 · Brent RockswoldMy place to go for a personal training. Vladimir Sizov is the expert of high calibre. Besides Vladimir's achievements in IFBB, also my results speaks for the level of the coach he is.
August 16 · Armen WayOwner of the place is very aggressive, he push me out of the gym (Physically) Because he thought I was looking over his girlfriend. The gym is always empty and now it’s make sense why.
