The actual stretch session was good—my instructor was amazing, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They explained the importance of stretching clearly and gave me practical tips to use at home. I felt supported and informed throughout, and it made me genuinely consider incorporating assisted stretching into my routine.When I arrived, the lady confirmed my appointment and asked if I had grip socks. I didn’t, and she pointed to a wall where I could purchase a pair for $20, stating they were required. Interestingly enough, I never actually used them during my session—the instructor did all the stretching, and I was never in a position where grip socks were necessary.After the session, I was directed back to the front desk to talk about next steps. The lady helping me was still polite and friendly, but there was an underlying tone that made me feel uncomfortable—almost like I had to justify why I wasn’t immediately signing up for a membership. She asked if it was a budget issue or a scheduling issue, and started talking about how I should prioritize my health and think about my future self. While I understand the need to promote memberships, I came in for an introductory class—meaning I should have the space to try it out and think it over. Being made to feel awkward for not committing on the spot was not the best way to end an otherwise great session.To summarize: the stretch session itself was fantastic and I give full credit to the instructor. But the front desk experience, while not aggressive, felt a bit too pushy and uncomfortable. Better communication before the appointment and a more relaxed, respectful approach post-session would go a long way in creating a more welcoming environment for first-timers like myself.
