StretchLab Introduce
In a city that never stops moving, it's easy for our bodies to feel the strain of daily life. For many New Yorkers, the search for a solution to muscle tightness, chronic pain, or limited mobility goes beyond the traditional gym. StretchLab, located in the vibrant Midtown East neighborhood, offers a unique and highly specialized fitness service: one-on-one assisted stretching. This isn’t a place for lifting weights or running on a treadmill; it's a dedicated studio where professional Flexologists work with you to unlock your body's full potential, one stretch at a time.
StretchLab redefines the concept of a "fitness center" by focusing on a crucial, often-overlooked component of physical health: flexibility. Our bodies are complex machines, and without proper care and maintenance, they can become stiff, sore, and prone to injury. The expert practitioners at StretchLab, known as Flexologists, are trained to provide a deeper, more effective stretch than you could ever achieve on your own. They use a method called PNF stretching (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), which involves a 'push and release' technique that targets specific muscles and joints, leading to significant improvements in range of motion and overall well-being.
This specialized approach is designed to benefit everyone, from professional athletes looking for an edge in performance and recovery to office workers seeking relief from the aches and pains of a sedentary lifestyle. The reviews from real customers highlight the transformative impact of these sessions. Clients report running faster, lifting heavier, and even replacing physical therapy visits with regular stretches. The a-ha moment for many is realizing that assisted stretching is the "missing piece of the fitness puzzle," a crucial element for breaking through plateaus and achieving a new level of physical freedom.
StretchLab is conveniently located at 1100 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10022, USA. This prime address places it in the heart of Midtown East, a bustling and easily accessible part of Manhattan. The studio is situated between 57th and 58th streets on 2nd Avenue, making it a perfect stop for residents and those who work in the area. Its central location means it is well-connected to public transportation, with easy access to major subway lines like the 4, 5, and 6 trains, as well as several bus routes, including the M31 and M57.
The accessibility of the studio is a significant advantage for busy New Yorkers. The Midtown East location makes it simple to fit a session into your busy New York schedule, whether you’re heading home from the office, running errands, or meeting friends for a coffee nearby. For those who require it, the studio also offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that it is a welcoming space for all. This commitment to accessibility reflects a broader ethos of inclusivity, making sure that everyone has the opportunity to experience the benefits of assisted stretching. The studio’s friendly and professional staff are dedicated to creating a comfortable and safe environment from the moment you walk through the door.
The surrounding neighborhood of Midtown East is a hub of activity, with a mix of residential buildings, corporate offices, and various dining and shopping options. The ease of access, combined with a central location, makes it a practical and appealing choice for anyone in the city looking to prioritize their physical well-being.

In a city with countless fitness options, choosing StretchLab is a decision to invest in a foundational aspect of your health that is often neglected. What makes it truly worth choosing is its specialized, expert-driven approach to flexibility and mobility. Unlike a large, general-purpose gym, StretchLab offers a unique service that directly addresses chronic issues like tightness and limited range of motion. The testimonials from real customers paint a clear picture of the benefits, from an athlete who found that a few months of weekly sessions replaced the need for physical therapy to another who praised the staff for helping her get back her mobility. This kind of tangible, life-changing result is what sets StretchLab apart.
The professionalism and knowledge of the staff, known as Flexologists, are a key selling point. As one customer noted, the instructor was not only amazing but also took the time to explain the “why” behind each stretch, targeting specific muscles and joints. This educational component empowers clients, making each session an opportunity to learn and grow. The focus on personalized attention is also evident in the reviews, with clients highlighting how their sessions were adapted to their specific “pain points.” This level of customization ensures that your time and money are spent effectively, yielding maximum results for your individual needs.
Furthermore, the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere of the studio is a significant reason to choose it. Knowing that StretchLab is an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space creates a sense of comfort and belonging that can be hard to find. The staff's commitment to making every client feel welcome, with "warm welcomes" and a willingness to stay a little past their shift, speaks to a genuine care for the community they serve. When you combine this compassionate approach with the clear physical benefits of assisted stretching—from improved athletic performance to simple relief from daily aches—it becomes clear why so many New Yorkers are making StretchLab a regular and essential part of their fitness routine. It is a genuine investment in feeling better, moving more freely, and living a healthier life in the city.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Will, who is also a fitness coach, is honestly so amazing! As an athlete, I am beyond grateful to have found somebody who adapts a treatment regimen to your pain points, but also pushes you to continue training in a healthy way. Will is really knowledgable about the body and could also probably be a motivational speaker. I appreciate him always taking the time to break down why he's doing certain stretches and which muscles and joints it is targeting. It's been about four months since I've first step foot into this location, but now it's become a weekly thing I genuinely look forward to. I always leave feeling more inspired to push the boundaries of my body, feeling lighter generally, and definitely having learned something new. I'm running faster and lifting heavier than ever. The best part? I've gotten enough mobility back that I've replaced physical therapy with visits to StretchLab. Honestly could not recommend Will enough! The rest of the staff is also SO amazing- I always appreciate the warm welcomes and them staying a little past their shift time if an evening session runs over. Definitely worth a visit! :)
April 20 · Amy KongI have been seeing Angie for my stretch and she is truly amazing. Not only does she know and understand which parts of your body require special attention, but she is also super sweet. Would highly recommend her!!
July 15 · dagna RucewiczAngie the Body Wizard Changed Everything!I can’t say enough good things about StretchLab Midtown—but if you’re lucky enough to book with Angie (aka The Body Wizard), you’re in for something special. I came in with tightness, discomfort, and a referral for physical therapy. After just two sessions with Angie, I cancelled my PT appointments—yes, she’s that good.Angie has an incredible sense of the body. She’s not just stretching you—she’s diagnosing, correcting, and rebalancing in real time. She listened carefully to what I was feeling, targeted all the problem areas, and somehow made it feel both therapeutic and relaxing. The whole StretchLab Midtown team is great, but Angie’s in a league of her own. Book her while you still can—she’s pure magic with a stretch table. Trust me, your body will thank you!
June 06 · Christopher OConnorI was really looking forward to this appointment. I’ve been feeling incredibly tight and needed some relief. I had tried another StretchLab location before but they were fully booked, so I jumped on an opening at this one, even though it was far from me since I live in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was told my appointment had been canceled because the staff member left early. No one called me to let me know. I checked my email and saw a cancellation notice sent just ten minutes before the appointment, when I was already walking in.The person at the desk was apologetic, but the damage was done. I had just wasted my entire evening commuting to Midtown for nothing. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned into a stressful and time-wasting trip. I also wasted money on the train and lost my Wellhub check-in. I only get four check-ins to StretchLab per month, and because the daily check-in was used, I could not pivot to a class or even use the sauna instead.Really disappointing experience and not what I would expect from a business that promotes itself around wellness and recovery.
August 22 · Lauren MorenoThis was my first session, and I visited the location on 58th St and 2nd Ave. The place is very nice, with about 10 stretching beds just like in the pictures. Upon arrival, I spoke with the front desk staff, who were very welcoming. There’s also a designated area to leave your shoes and coat.My stretching specialist was Valentina, and she was amazing! The session lasted about 50 minutes. We started with some squats in front of an iPad that analyzed my body and identified the areas that needed the most work—very impressive. Then, Valentina did an incredible job stretching my entire body.Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I truly appreciate the service. Thank you again!
