For New Yorkers in search of a workout that delivers serious results without the high impact on joints, SLT Park Slope offers an innovative and highly effective solution. This isn't your typical large-scale gym; it's a specialized fitness studio dedicated to the SLT method—a unique fusion of strength training, cardio, and the most challenging elements of Pilates. The name itself, SLT, stands for "Strengthen, Lengthen, and Tone," perfectly summarizing the core benefits of its signature 50-minute class. The workout is performed on a specialized machine called the Megaformer, which uses a system of springs and pulleys to create a counter-resistance that engages every muscle. This method is designed to activate slow-twitch muscle fibers, which are key for building long, lean muscles and improving endurance. The focus on slow, controlled movements ensures that momentum is removed from the equation, forcing your body to work harder and more efficiently. For many, this unique approach provides a refreshing change from traditional gym routines, leading to a feeling of accomplishment and amazing physical results. The intimate setting of the studio, combined with the personalized attention from instructors, creates an environment where everyone feels seen and supported, regardless of their fitness level or experience. This focus on a high-quality, results-driven workout in a community setting is what makes SLT Park Slope a standout destination in the bustling New York fitness scene.
The SLT workout is known for being incredibly challenging, often described as "the hardest workout in New York City" by those who have experienced it. However, the low-impact nature of the exercises makes it suitable for a wide range of individuals, including those with pre-existing injuries or limitations. Instructors are well-trained to provide modifications and adjustments, ensuring that every participant can get a safe and effective workout. The classes are designed to be a total body workout, with fast-paced transitions between moves to keep your heart rate up and your muscles engaged. The promise of muscle quivering and a feeling of being "better sore than sorry" is a testament to the workout's effectiveness. This specialized and focused approach to fitness is a major draw for New Yorkers who are looking for a workout that is both efficient and transformative. The positive atmosphere and supportive instructors create a space where members are encouraged to push their limits and celebrate their progress. This combination of a unique workout method, expert instruction, and a welcoming environment makes SLT Park Slope a truly unique and beneficial place to get in shape in the city.

SLT Park Slope Reviews
SLT is amazing and my favorite workout class to go to, the instructors and vibes are amazing but the one thing I think they can really improve on is the music, I’ve only had one or 2 instructor who played ok/decent music, it can make a workout unenjoyable when there’s a remix of the real slim shady that I’ve never heard of or even knew existed because the beat drops into something insane and techno and it just doesn’t make sense. Today during the end of classes final push I thought maybe a great song that’ll give a great push energy will come on but instead we got a song that I hear in every “top 10 biggest waterslides In USA” on YouTube (if ur confused just search up the song Wallpaper by Kevin McLeod) and I was so confused and just upset. They need more of an energy and new music vibe, but otherwise SLT is amazing
December 16 · Sharon mFavorite workout class! The instructors are awesome and really enjoy the supportive atmosphere. I may not be the best at it but that doesn't discourage me from trying thanks to their team :) If you're on the fence, give it a couple of tries to see if it's the right fit for you! This studio is in a great location and it's an intimate space.
March 09 · Megan BreukelmanI absolutely love SLT and have really seen a difference in my body since trying this workout(especially core and the all important gluts, which prevent injury as you age). The instructors are phenomenal and although they draw from a series of "SLT" exercises, no class is exactly the same, which always keeps things interesting. I especially love Chana Balk's enthusiasm and energy and how Amanda pushes you to exhaustion but always with a smile. There's really not a bad instructor in the bunch! Great workout that you can really stick with and see results.
January 16 · Joie Jager-HymanI researched the Megaformer and read about SLT, even with all the stories of how hard the class is, I was still surprised! Mid class I asked Kelly, "why is this so hard?!" She said, because it is hard and smiled. I felt so much better with her validation. I was so intimidated with all the beautiful toned bodies in the room, I am very fit, but have never had a "hard body." Everyone in the class and studio were encouraging and lovely. it's a little too expensive for me to make this a regular part of my fitness routine, but I will return when I can!
June 08 · Jeanna MSLT is pilates on steroids. I think it's a good workout if you know what you are doing. But being a newbie I would have liked for the music to be a bit lower so I can hear what the instructor is saying instead of looking at the person next to me to see what I'm supposed to be doing.
