Queens Community Yoga Introduce
Welcome to Queens Community Yoga, a sanctuary of calm and connection located in the vibrant neighborhood of Maspeth, New York. In a bustling city like NYC, finding a space to "unplug, reset, and be together" is a true gift, and that is precisely what we offer. Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience level. We believe that the practice of yoga is not about "getting into these crazy poses" but rather about "calming the fluctuations of the mind" and connecting with your body and breath. As the name suggests, community is at the heart of everything we do, and we are dedicated to fostering a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere for all who walk through our doors.
For many New Yorkers, the idea of trying a yoga class can feel intimidating. The fear of not being flexible enough or not knowing the poses can prevent people from even starting. At Queens Community Yoga, we go out of our way to dismantle these misconceptions. As one new-to-yoga member beautifully articulated, "from the minute I walked into the studio I felt welcomed and at ease." This feeling of support is a cornerstone of our philosophy. Our instructors are "kind, patient and knowledgeable," taking the time to "explain the poses and work at your specific skill level." This focus on individual progress over perfection ensures that everyone, especially beginners, feels safe and confident in their practice.
The positive atmosphere is a key feature that sets us apart. Our space is designed to be a peaceful retreat from the outside world, with "calming atmosphere, soothing music and breathing and mindfulness" at the forefront of every session. The reviews consistently praise the "calm, professional, and encouraging environment" our instructors, like Heather, create. They offer "clear instructions and modifications" to accommodate all levels, demonstrating a "deep knowledge of yoga" and, more importantly, a "genuine care for each student’s comfort and progress." This personal touch is what makes a first-time yoga experience not just bearable, but truly transformative. You will never feel judged or overwhelmed, and will instead leave feeling "grounded, and eager to return."

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As someone new to Yoga I did not know what to expect, but from the minute I walked into the studio I felt welcomed and at ease. The instructors are kind, patient and knowledgeable. They take time to explain the poses and work at your specific skill level. I have always felt supported and never judged. I appreciate the calming atmosphere, soothing music and breathing and mindfulness. I highly recommend!
July 20 · Jennifer VallerugoA Supportive and Welcoming Introduction to Yoga!As someone new to yoga, I couldn't have asked for a better introduction than Heather's class. I felt completely at ease thanks to the calm, professional, and encouraging environment she creates. The class is thoughtfully structured, with clear instructions and modifications offered to accommodate all experience levels, especially beginners like myself.Heather demonstrates a deep knowledge of yoga, but even more importantly, a genuine care for each student’s comfort and progress. The pace is gentle but still engaging, and there's a strong emphasis on proper alignment, breathwork, and listening to your own body. I never once felt judged or overwhelmed, and instead, left the class feeling great, more grounded, and eager to return. If you are new to yoga or simply looking for a kind and patient guide to help you get started, I definitely recommend this class.
June 03 · Ryan SorellThis is a great new yoga studio. I have been going here for over a month and had a chance to try a variety of classes with different instructors. They were all great with different personalities and approaches, but more importantly, they all place a focus on sharing knowledge and helping clients improve their form. Exercises are tailored towards different ability levels with adjustments to make them both easier and more difficult. Instructors explain how the body naturally tries to make movements easier and break form and what to watch out for to perform exercises correctly. They also walk around the room and help, even when it’s a small tweak that will make good form even better. There is a nice variety of more intense classes and calmer, more relaxed classes that focus on relaxation and recovery. I highly recommend this studio to everyone. Yoga is a great complement to other fitness exercises. It gives me greater awareness and control of my body and calms the mind. I’m glad I gave it a try.
March 22 · Marek MarcinkiewiczThis is a great space to take yoga classes - beautiful, warm, clean open studio. This community really needed a yoga studio. So far I’ve taken 2 classes and both have been fantastic - relaxing yet a good workout. Looking forward to going back regularly.
March 08 · Natalia RiveraGreat to have a yoga studio nearby (no need to plan much ahead or commute). A good variety of classes and instructors, so everyone can find what they like best, or mix it up. I 100% agree with all the positive reviews already posted.
