Orangetheory Fitness Introduce
For those in State College, Pennsylvania, seeking a fitness experience that goes beyond the typical gym, Orangetheory Fitness offers a dynamic and science-backed solution. Located at 106 S Atherton St, this facility is more than just a place to lift weights; it's a high-energy environment built around the principle of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption, or EPOC. This unique approach means that the one-hour group classes are designed to keep your metabolism revved up and burning calories for hours after you've finished your workout. For local users, this is a highly efficient way to get maximum results in a minimum amount of time. The gym's vibrant orange lighting and motivating atmosphere create a space where both physical and mental well-being are prioritized. Members often speak of the supportive and friendly staff, who create a welcoming and encouraging environment. One customer review highlights the "amazing Establishment, Wonderful staff + coaches" and notes their patience and willingness to assist, even with individual needs such as using a cane. This level of personalized attention within a group setting is a key feature that sets Orangetheory apart from its competitors. It’s a community-driven fitness experience that provides a sense of belonging and accountability, which is essential for long-term success.
Orangetheory Fitness is founded on a scientific approach to fitness. The workouts are a dynamic blend of cardiovascular and strength training, incorporating treadmills, rowing machines, and free weights. Each class is led by an expert coach who guides members through a series of intervals, with the goal of spending a certain amount of time in the "Orange Zone"—a target heart rate zone that stimulates the afterburn effect. Participants wear heart rate monitors, and their performance is displayed on screens throughout the studio, which adds a layer of accountability and fun, competitive motivation. This data-driven approach allows members to track their progress and see tangible results. While the workouts are challenging, they are designed to be scalable to all fitness levels, with coaches offering modifications and encouragement to ensure everyone can participate safely and effectively. The facility's commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment is echoed by members who feel empowered and accepted, regardless of their starting point. The overall experience at Orangetheory Fitness in State College is one of high energy, professional guidance, and a welcoming community, making it a premier destination for those serious about their health and fitness journey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The front desk staff is always awesome & so friendly (Becka, Nicole & Isabel- not sure if spelled all correctly, but they're always smiling). And instructors Kim & Kamyar Are So Awesome, their energy pushes you to do your best & always there to assist (especially since I'm using a cane & relearning my body post traumatic health events)! Amazing Establishment, Wonderful staff + coaches & love the orange lighting.
December 17 · Nicole PorterCoaches are amazing! I have been a long time member even though I don’t go often. When I decided to cancel, I went it and filled out paperwork only to be informed latter in the day that the employee gave me the wrong form. So I had to fill out a form online with some crazy email confirmation. Seems like a sleazy way to keep a membership active. Join and have fun but when it comes time to cancel pay close attention.
September 30 · Cecil SheltonI have very positive experience at Orange Theory and love all the coaching staff is superb— I really mean it! A GREAT gym that is very motivating to go to and right now, it's the only thing that really gets me going to the gym every day or every other day! I HIGHLY recommend it! I give it a 10/10
January 23 · Marta VenturaLove the positive energy at OT - especially since it’s usually at 5am! The coaches are wonderful - Caitlin and Amanda with help from Coach Bella and Tory in the mornings. I need the discipline of showing up for classes and am excited to go to class to see what comes next. The workouts are dynamic, never boring and I feel like I get a total body workout. The coaches are super careful about how people work out and keep a close eye on us. I feel safe even doing things that I’ve not done before. I know the coaches will make sure I have the right form. I also like the idea of splat points. Funny ... I can’t believe how competitive I am with myself now that I actually have a work out that has small/mind game/rewards! The app is easy to use for signing up for classes and I appreciate that there are virtual classes if, for some reason, I can’t get to the gym. I work in healthcare and can appreciate the health benefit of the work out but even more importantly the health benefit of the positive energy that I get to be around when I go to Orange theory! Thank you to everyone at the State College Orange theory for keeping things going during this pandemic and making OT a safe spot and a fun place to be!
August 14 · Susan TrainorMy first time going to a orange theory class was absolutely amazing!! I was greeted by Ryan, Kiara, and Megan with smiles. I felt so welcomed right away. As someone who lost 50 pounds and gained it back I was a little self conscious but Ryan was the instructor and he was so EMPOWERING! I felt amazing and upbeat. The class pushed me while also keeping me in my comfort zone. I can’t stress enough how great everyone who works there is. On top of that the class really got me sweating and my heart rate up. Love love love this location, instructors, and overall the atmosphere!
